  1. Encouraging!!!!!
  2. I've been blesses to catch a lot of bass on frog. One thing I've hardly ever been able to do is to "feel the fish" with adenaline pouring through my body all I can feel is the anticipated hook set. I just wait a second or two after the explosion and swing for the fences.(if I can't see the frog of course)
  3. Headed in the right direction, Congrats
  4. KEEP THAT QUITE. I lie not. My son and I had a day this year where we both caught over fifty a piece on frog. The largest being 5.5#. Just last week I had an afternoon where I caught 9, seven of them two to three pounders. I've always wanted to fish the south. I love that part of the country. I'm sure you guys catch some monsters. Sound like we've been blessed with some pretty good frog fishing.
  5. On the other hand, have you and a buddy ever caught the same fish at the same time? Reel in your line and you have the same fish.
  6. Nice fish, Congrats
  7. Just curious, do you consider 18 "blow ups" a day a lot ?
  8. Caldwell ponds still might produce something. I've seen some pretty decent size come out of Duff's. Sad thing is that they went home with the fishermen.
  9. Nice, can't beat topwater.
  10. $10 an inch, get it mounted
  11. All miss fish on frog. Some days in open water I'l have 90% hook up ratio other days in slop it could be as low as 10%. No matter the misses, it's still a lot of fun.
  12. Alway great to see a PB. Believe the Boga
  13. Wiki's got it there, as clear as day, just look under "ECSTASY"
  14. Beautiful fish, Congrats
  15. Booyah are the best I found for performance, price and durability, but they eventually will wear and tear and fill with water. Don't throw them away, at times the bass will want a frog swimming totally under the surface. BTW my experience, Padcrasher last at least 3 to 4 times longer than Spro. I've had Spro fill with water after 20 fish or so. I sometime can catch 80 on the Padcrasher without having to squeeze everytime.
  16. I've got that exact set up with 8# Tatsu work well in many finesse situations. My problem is that I'm too busy throwing hollow body frogs and heavier jigs and It see very little use.
  17. I have a one man "sea eagle 285fpb" (small pontoon boat) I can fish all day with a series 24 battery. I am starting to fish a pond that I have to hike into and am looking for a battery as light as possible to run my mini-kota 55 for 2 to 3 hours. Any suggestions ???????
  18. Have shotgun,will travel.
  19. Yah, since I started using scales I started catching smaller fish. .
  20. Great Job, keep it up, persistances pays, I caught over 25 yesterday most 2-3 lbs and close to two hundred for this year. I've sacficed numbers just to catch a few on frog, but yesterday frog out fished anything else we threw at them. Gotta love that EXPLOSION!!!!!!
  21. Love PB's keep them comin'
  22. I totally agree. I caught about 25 yesterday on frog and many ran warp speed right at me after the hook set. I had a Metanium XG and was able to tighten the slack quickly, saved me a few fish. I am totally sold on faster reels for froggin. By the way yesterday was a GREAT day of froggin for us.
  23. Thanks for the info, I will let him know. Like I said this was our first muskie trip and his second muskie ever. We'll know better next time.
  24. It was a Tiger Muskie, I should have clarified that. He caught it on a huge 8'' lighter weight spinner. As far a a replica is concern, he is planning on catching it again when it gets bigger, lol, then make the replica. Knowing my son I wouldn't doubt that happening. I should add, we were fishing out of a small 8' "Crawdad" type pond boat.
  25. My son thought he would try his hand at muskie fishing while I was going for big smallies. He won, it was his first muskie trip ever. I would show you the smallies I caught but,........................ I don't want to.
