When we get a chance to get out this time of year 10-14 hours on the water isn't a rarity. In a 100 degree heat it can wear on you. (only if the fish aren't biting)
Baitcasting for beginners can be a bit tricky, made harder by some inexpensive gear. Might want to save up until you can afford better equiptment. Many here can give you some good suggestion, but I would caution against going too cheap.
I love the Metanium 7.4:1 and am planning on purchasing another one. I prefer the fast pick up of line when froggin and pitchin. What drawback do you see in a 8.5 vs. the 7.4 ? What about the longevity of a higher gear ratio reel vs. a lower ratio? , torque?
I used that same frog for years, color and all. I switched to booyah pad crasher a couple years ago. They work just as well for me, but last A LOT longer
My experience,Cabela's had a few hick-ups some years ago,but other than that they have been EXCEPTIONAL in the customer service dept. above and beyond the call of duty in many cases. Hope they don't change that.
