Went to cape cod today.Arrived at the ramp at 7:15,water temp was 43 degrees went to 44.5 degrees.Light wind in the mourning from the S.E to 15 mph.Caught 38 largemouth with my buddy Rich. All fish where caught on jerkbaits in 4' to 6' of water,on a river channel surronded by a 3' flat on both sides .Biggest fish was 3# 5oz,average fish was about 2 #.Seen 3 other boats get there late in the mourning and talked to 2 of them and 1 guy had 1 fish and the other boat didn't have any fish yet. They were throwing jigs.I love to throw jigs but , i feel it's a big mistake throwing a jig with water that temp.Water in the low 40's is reaction bait territory. We ended up leaving at about 1:45.Hope everyone had a chance to get out today, because the winter doldrums are finally over. 8-)
