Decided to go up a week later this year.Water was cold 42 to 44 deg all week. The fish still decided to cooperate caught a mess of fish, with the biggest going 4 lbs 2 oz.The bird hunting was fantastic and couldn't have asked for better weather for this time of year.
For it to be a good bite,I'd say 6 PM to 12 or 1 AM.With the pressure the lake is getting now ,we're better off fishing late. Also after 6 the rangers are gone and their going to want to see a permit if we show up too early.
Will it be a night torney?.Haven't fished wallum this year, but from what I hear the place is loaded up with boats every weekend.Night time is the way to go this time of year anyway...
Buy a speaker and an amplifier at Radio Shack. plug in an mp3 player and your off to the races.Plus with the mp3 you can listen to whatever you want. That's what I did works great.
Awesome fish!
...but boat fish don't count. 8-)
Thanks Matt.....I'd fish more from shore, but I wouldnt look as good as you wearing a pair of tights ..Here are a few more that don't count.Great year for both fresh and saltwater fishing.Must be all the rain :-X
These 2 were released.....Right into the cooler.
Had a great time as always.Weather was above normal this year.Water temp was 58 when we got to camp and went as high as 75 in shallow coves at the end of the week ,unheard of for this time of year. The main thing is that the fish cooperated......The black flies and mosquitos where the worst I have seen in 10 years and I have the bites to show for it.Here are some pics from the trip.
Great night time lake.To much boat traffic during the day in the summer time. This time of the year fish the N.W. end of the lake and fish ultra shallow, fish are starting to spawn and will be right on the bank.Good luck.
