  1. Well seeing that we are still on the subject, If you guys remember, a few weeks back I was asking about a good pole to buy, and came up with a 7' Browning Aggressor. Great Rod and Reel combo from BPS. I am still very proud of it, but along with it I bought a couple of lures myself, and I was wondering how to make the popper work right? Sorry for sounding stupid, but you dont know unless you ask or someone shows you, and I aint been showed yet. But heres how I worked it, I let it sit on top of the water, then gave it a quick jerk and then reeled in a little, that didnt seem to do the trick, any suggestions? I got a torpedo too, and didnt do too bad with that one. But how bout it, can you help me a little on the popper?
  2. I was actually bass fishing and it turned into one of those.....yeeehaawwww...I at least caught a fish kind of deals...LOL...I went to catch a few bass and ended up throwing in a little sonnys stink bait and got lucky. I aint good enough for basss fishing yet I guess....and yes...Current is the same one in M.O. Great all around river.
  3. Well, I just got off the river and got me around a 5 pound Catfish. Missed a couple of good ones, but got one to brag about. I went into little black from current river and got my cat there. Worth every bit of it too...I aint complainin any. Thanks Everyone for all the great advice, I promise you I took every bit of it with me today! It was worth spendin the little I had for sure. Have a good rest of the day, and again, thanks all the replys.
  4. What about since the water is up, there is an overflow right off the eddy? Someone told me the mouth of that might be some good fishing. Also, catfishing wouldnt be any good right now either would it?
  5. Hey Moby, Thanks man for the advice, i just purchased a nice spinner as well. Gonna have to give it a try, and the water temp is problably a little cool for now. Thanks again for the reply.
  6. Fellow Fishermen, I am in a twixt, I am fairly new to bass fishin, and tomorrow its going to around 60 in Arkansas. So off to the river I go. I have a question for you. The river that I am going to fish (Current River) is up a little and normally the water is pretty clear, but now its a little muddy, not bad as it was, but all in all, still a little bit up, and a little bit muddy. Is it even worth my while to spend my little extra I tuck back each week after the wife and bills get it. And if so, what lures would you suggest? Just lookin for a little advice and any is very much appriciated. Thanks for your time. Trail.
  7. Have you thought about Norfork lake in Mountain Home? Also which part of Arkansas you coming through? I myself live on the M.O line, near Popular Bluff, but am very familiar with Little Rock area, Also, N.E Arkansas, where you have a wide variety of some very nice lakes in these parts...give me a yell, let me know your intentions, and If I cant help you, maybe I can start you in the right direction. All in all, your gonna love our lakes.
  8. Well, my pic didnt download, I tried to fit in wit ya...lol...
  9. Just a little update, I went with the Browning Aggressor Spinning Combo. BPS had it on clearance for $59.00, marked down from $79.00. I kind of took a little of everyone's advice and looked around till I found this one. Even had enough left over to buy a few lures, seen a couple of the Gents from the BPS forum talking bout the sexy shad, and some of the nitro crankbaits, and got a couple of those as well...so hopefully before long I can jump in with some nice pics like the rest of you. Thanks a million for the Welcomes and all the great advice. Have a great weekend from Arkansas.

  17. Just asking some advice on what to buy for a nice rod and reel combo at bass pro for just under 100.00. I do mainly bass and catfishing and started to really get in to fishing just last year. All Ive ever bought was Walmart Specials. I received a 100.00 Bass Pro Shop gift card and am looking to spend it wisely. I know its not a lot to some folks, but here in Arkansas where the money is tight, I do want to spend it right! Any suggestions. And thanks so much for your time.
