  1. KC, Thanks for the info....that really helps me a lot. My wife and I love that lake...esp. since it doesn't get the big boat traffic like some....and yes, i agree...its a lot of hit and miss there....but again...thanks for the feedback. Randy
  2. Looking to go fish the Pomme this Sunday, and was wondering if anyone knew how the bass fishing has been lately. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  3. I have a Lowrance X47 next to the console on my boat...and being completely honest I'm terrible at reading it. Can anyone give me some tips on the best way to read the type of bottom structure I'm looking at on the graph. Does it show up as a dark line if its hard and rocky? etc? I know the graph isnt a real high tech one, but id love to be able to be able to pick out drop-offs, bottom type, etc. and at this point about all i do is read water temp and depth.
  4. I am wondering what product some of you may use to clean the outside hull of your boat to get rid of what primarily equates to water build up. I've tried hull cleaner....soap and water.....and a couple of other products but can't seem to get that dingy look off my grayish colored hull. Any suggestions that have worked for you?
  5. Hey Harshman, Wish I could be of some help...but yesterday it was a choice between Mark Twain and Pomme de Terre and my wife and I opted for Pomme. Not sure it was a good decision as we didnt get a bite in 6 hours of fishing...lol....I actually think Mark Twain is a little bit warmer and not as muddy as Pomme right now though, so that should help you. We may head to Mark Twain on Sunday ourselves. Good luck.
  6. It's a Charge Pro...10 amp charger. I guess the longest I have had the charger on is probably 4 hours or something like that...I'm assuming it's a smaller size charger than a lot, but not sure.
  7. I have an on-board battery charger that charges both my cranking battery and my trolling motor battery and I'm sure there are tons of different models out there, but my question is this: How do you know when your batteries are fully charged? There are two lights on the charger...a red one toward the top of the unit...and a green one underneath it. Both of them come on when you plug the charger in....and stay on the entire time they're charging. It's my understanding the charger can't "overcharge" the batteries if it's left plugged in overnight or something...but shouldn't the lights go off when they've received a full charge? I've just been kind of "guessing" how long to leave it plugged in. Thanks in Advance
  8. My wife and I were on Pomme yesterday (Thursday) for six hours and never got a single bite. Talked to a couple of other boats and it had been the same for them. We were fishing flooded cover....main lake shores..and nothing. We wanted to fish more of the secondary points but the wind was up quite a bit and just didnt feel like hammering the trolling motor all day. We threw spinnerbaits, plastic worms, rattle-traps, jig/pig, coffee tubes and a new Dance eel....and not even a perch. LOL. The lake was very stained to muddy and the warmest watter we found was about 52.2 degrees....I'm sure things we pick up there in a few days unless we get a lot more rain.
  9. Before my wife and I took the plunge a few weeks ago and bought a Tracker Tournament V18 I had researched the SeaEagle Foldcat you're speaking of was going to buy one. We liked the portability of it, especially since we could haul it with us on our camping trips with our travel trailer and not have to worry about pulling a bass boat. I actually spoke to a guy who is a dealer for them and he said it's very stable..moreso than you might think...he's even had it on Class II waters and it did fine. The two pontoon floats are made with a very high level density material....they're not like something you would pick up at Wally World which was great to us.
  10. I'm glad the old thread was pulled back up since I've only been coming to this forum for about 2 months or so...it's great to see the number of fishermen and fisherwomen that are in my area. My wife and I are from Sullivan, MO...about 65 miles southwest of St. Louis, right on I-44. We just bought our first bass boat...a 2004 Tracker Tournament V18...and can't wait to get it on the water. We'll be fishing Pomme, Truman, Stockton...and heading down to Kentucky Lake in August. Feel free to hit me up when you're going fishing...maybe we can shake a few together.
  11. My wife and I just purchased our first bass boat. It's a 2004 Tracker Tournament V-18 with a 90hp Mercury...52lb Motorguide Foot Controlled TM, fish finder...divided livewell...tons of storage....and in great shape. One owner who kept it in a heated garage....we feel we got a great boat at a great price....at least $2500 under what other boats were selling for in the exact same model, etc. Let us know what you think.
  12. I was hoping to get some feedback from anyone that may have or have fished in one of these boats. I have a chance of buying a 2004 Tracker Tournament V18 with a 90 Horse Mercury 2-stroke...boat is fully decked out with 52lb motorguide trolling motor...fishfinder...divided livewell....tons of storage....great looking trailer. The motor runs great....it's a one owner...been stored in a heated garage. I can get the boat for $9,000 and was wondering if that seemed to be a fair price...a steal? too high...etc. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  13. If you could only use one lure....what would that lure be when fishing for walleye in Canada? I understand a lot of variables go into your choice..water clarity....time of year....etc. But if you had to select one lure that best catches walleye in a number of situations....what would it be?
  14. My wife and I are planning a July or August fishing trip to Ontario on Lake of the Woods and had been looking at the Tomahawk Fishing Resort. Was hoping to get some feedback on that particular resort or any others that any of you have stayed at and liked...disliked...etc. Any type of reviews or comments would be greatly appreciated. We are looking for a drive-in resort as opposed to a fly-in. Thanks in advance.
  15. Thanks.....I'll check out the info....
  16. For me it's not always what I pick up....just get stoked hanging out and and looking at all of the gear....My wife and I were actually at BP again yesterday (Sunday)....can't get enough...lol....I have been a little disappointed in the lack of info on scheduled speakers, times, and topics though. Maybe I'm missing it or something..but the only thing I've seen regarding that in Springfield or St. Charles doesn't pinpoint times etc.
  17. Thanks Roadwarrior...and I will do just that....can't wait for this Missouri weather to break a little....getting that fishing fever.
  18. My wife and I just added two new bait casting combos to our arsenal and was looking for some feedback from those who have fished with these reels. My wife chose the Citica 200 DSV 6:2:1 with a Bass Pro Extreme 6'6" Medium action rod and I went with the lower profile Citica 200 D 6:2:1 with the same rod as her. Any thoughts?
  19. Pomme de Terre, Truman, Bull Shoals to name just three.
  20. Does anyone know of a site a person can go to and download contour maps of different lakes here in Missouri? If there's no place to do that, is there somewhere they can be purchased? I'm not just looking for lake maps, but rather maps that would show depth levels...points...etc. of the lakes.
  21. Unfortunately I can't comment on how reliable they are....since I don't own one....but have been looking at small boats like this myself...and this definitely appears to be one with a lot of nice features and add-ons compared to some I've looked at. I have also researched the Seaeagle Foldcat 375 (inflatable) pontoon boat....because of the ease of transporting it...and storage....(we have a travel trailer we pull to most of our fishing outings)...but I have to say....I'm glad you posted that link....cause it definitely has me thinking again....I hope someone does post a reply that owns one or has fished from it.
  22. I've been doing a little reading about Doug Hannon's Wave Cast Spinning Reels and was wondering if any of you have used it and what you thought. Does it really "eliminate" backlash and bird's nests? Just curious about your opinions on the reel.
  23. Thanks Quinn....I know where you're talking about in regard to Nemo...and I'm assuming it's the boat ramp there in Nemo Park.
  24. Thanks for the input Cat....I take it you've fished these lakes? If so, do any of those you listed stand out more than another one?
