Flukes, aka Gulp Jerk Shads.... oooohhhh they tear the fish UP! I fish them weightless too. They are unbelieveable. I really like the gulp due to how soft they are. They also come in a certain color I have yet to find anywhere else. I do have other brands. The Yum ones have a unique tail that you can alter yourself to match your presentation.

an hour and a half? what are you running a 9.9? At launch time, run back, get the trailer, drive the boat on it. DRIVE to the place you need to be, re launch, fish, pack it back up and then launch again. Should save you some time. JK... I hope youre not running a 9.9

I made my own scent just for something to do the other night. Man was IMPRESSED. It kept up with my yum and gary yamo(strike king) fish for fish. My buddy was so impressed he wants a batch. Best thing is, most people have all the ingredients, its just how I got to the finished product. Im not planning to sell it, nor am i planning to share how I made it. Ill be like gary and hide it from you all for a few years. My ace in the hole! Do i believe in scents? Better believe it, got 4 different ones in my tackle bag. I like them all. Biggest thing about scents is it covers human scent!

I write reports weekly, I openly share my patterns and the companies patterns on my forums. Next year looks to be the year a BIG name fly fishing company endources the whole company. They know they've got ten of the best fly fishing guides they can get to spread the knowledge not just about the product but the game itself. Thats what sells rods, reels, packs, flies! Guides, people with a reputation in the industry for putting up results and passing on what has gotten them to where they are. Will everyone be sponsored, no, but thats the dream. Its more work then you can even begin to imagine.

There are two types of bass. The ones who go deep and the ones who go shallow. Definately cannot rule out fishing the channels in summer. They will follow that cool water! Mostly because the baitfish do... no not minnows... baby perch! Cold water holds more dissolved oxygen then warm water this is why you find river bass tucked up tight to the riffles and why trout move to find springs.

Present your bait so that you are throwing where they are going. You pretty much gotta make it so its easier for them to eat it then swim around it. Crusing bass are tough!

I like to fish with friends when they have their own gear! I get tired of people calling me up... hey you wanna fish. Well duh, do I ever not wanna fish. Most of the time its my boat. Which I tow. Yet they never offer money for gas. They get here and they have one rod in their possesion.... a big old ugly stick, no tackle and hell sometimes forgot the fishing license. Then its.... well what should i throw? Well im gonna throw a c-rig on this rod, and a jerk bait on this rod. "I dont own that stuff". For the most part its nice to have someeone to talk to. I enjoy taking my young one and my fiance too. Them using my tackle is a different story. But, I also love to fish alone. People for the most part want to just catch any fish on any thing they can. Im a beat the banks fish fast stop only when conditions permit kind of bass fisherman. I dont target crappies unless im with the family. Brings out a bunch of different fishing styles but d**n it... gas is almost $4! Im not asking you to replace my carpet or buy me beer or anything for that matter.... throw me a $20 every couple times we go out or im gonna quit taking you! ;D

Thats a good one! Now you got her hooked. My 4 yr old...3 at the time was fishing at the large local lake with me last year. I didnt have a boat yet and we were on the shore. She cant cast well. I cast out a big night crawler and pretty soon saw the line taking off. Set the hook and it was HEAVY. I handed her the rod and she could barely reel it in. Gets this huge catfish on the bank, throws the rod down and takes off running! LOL, PRICELESS.

I got rained on last night at the lake. Cold front really moved the fish into deep cover dropped the lake temp 10 degrees. Its been raining a lot here too. Calling for rain for the next ten days. I just rebuilt a transom in my john. Took a piece of 3/4 ply and sandwiched a 1/2" piece with it using construction adhesive. I have a 5hp gas motor and a trolling motor hanging on it. If that wouldnt work for you nothing would.
