  1. Oops, western basin as in Ohio? PM me, maybe you can send a message to my sponser and see if he knows anyone, we have a few guides in Ohio who have some connections.
  2. Erie smallmouth are pretty easy in the spring. Most guides specialize in walleye and salmon/steelhead on their boats. In the spring you can catch them at Presque Isle in the bay. Also, right now they are still running into elk creek. Guys are tearing fish up. Post your quesiton at this forum: http://forums.fishusa.com Most guys are from Erie and the ones who aren't all fish it.
  3. Youre not very far from the Susquehanna river.
  4. Its been many a mooooooons since i fished with spinning gear or bait for trout. Live fathead minnows with no weight, jigged erratically. Silver blue fox inline spinners. Pink salmon eggs. Believe it or not CORN. Wax worms. If you fly fished I could give you many more details. Check these out, tied these for a fly swap with ten other guys.
  5. Oh i agree, i really give my buddies a hard time when they cast in front of me. I think its a center line, just like when they did match fishing.
  6. Yeah i tend to agree, ignorance for the law is no excuse. If i went to another country and fished, i would put everything back.
  7. Thats exactly what it said in the box mine came in. Correct me if I am wrong but the puck is a different breed in that it doesnt have to be submerged.
  8. Im no wax expert but I would think marine wax would hold up longer. If you got no other option use meguiers.
  9. I personally would extend the trailer if i took that option, especially if you plan to hang a motor on it.
  10. Theres two times to move a bass boat fast.... One... the wind is so wicked that you would be blown on the shore without standing on the trolling motor constantly. Two... Youre both covering a lot of water. To establish what fish are doing. In both instances if the boater chose to do that you should switch to a bait that is conducive to that fishing. I was the boater yesterday and with the wind in the cove i was fishing I personally stopped throwing a texas rig even though I knew with the water temp they wouldnt chase much. I just COULDNT keep the boat still without dropping anchor.
  11. I bought 75 Gamatsu hooks on ebay about a week ago for $15. 5 of them cost $5 at our tackle shop.
  12. My boat isnt big enough to justify two finders but the one coming will be and Ive thought about this ALOT. This is what I want.... buy two of them exact same model, place the transducer on the transom and network them together so that they both read IDENTICAL. Then use GPS and markers for my positions.
  13. 1: How far is the transducer from any prop wash? 2: Does it have a sensitivity setting? I looked at the eagle but for $75 more I decided to buy the Humminbird.
  14. You let any gulp product out of water or the package for more then about 30 minutes its DONE. Thats what makes them so soft and able to release the scent. One other positiive note is that they are completely biodegradable. I love the freshwater jerk shads so much that I own EVERY color. Theyve caught bass, pickeral, rock bass, and yes even gills have tried to hit it. I havent tried the "alive" baits but the regular gulp products im sold on.
  15. I bet that baby bass is wicked! You dont know how many lures I own that are "Baby Bass" from flukes to zara spooks, crankbaits, and if they had a worm called baby bass id probably buy that too.
  16. No hard feelings, its a discussion board, take everything with a grain of salt.
  17. Yes, thats what I did. A lot of guys are also coating the INSIDE of their boat with herculiner. LBH proved to not do the outside. ;D
  18. Probably voted for a raise. I was just proving my point that Im not the only one who views the situation for what it really is.
  19. If its a rivet you can put a block on one side and smack the other side with a hammer. You can also use 3m 5200, it works great. They also make this stuff called PC Marine, its an epoxy stick that you mix by molding it like playdough then it gets ROCK solid in about 10 minutes. Cabelas also makes a stick you have to heat with a torch, its almost always sold out though.
  20. How small is small. I get some water in my boat too but its not even enough to kick the bilge pump on.
  21. Oh i agree, but its nice to see someone speak up. We need to borrow a couple more trillion and buy the world market of oil, whats a couple more to the debt we have.
  22. Oh and heres one more, it looks like the senate finally hears me. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headline/biz/5795651.html
  23. And if this doesnt say it all http://money.cnn.com/2008/05/22/news/economy/gas_prices/?postversion=2008052217 "But some global economies - namely China - are much stronger now. Since oil is a dollar-traded commodity, a weakened dollar has made crude look relatively cheap to some foreign nations." hmmm... still blowing smoke?
  24. Where? In one town in central Kansas? Public transportation isn't an option for a good portion of the country. Everywhere, people are turning to things like infrared heat to heat their homes. Bet if you look at ebay its FLOODED with big outboards. Still seeing 40 hummers rolling around? Many people have bought hybrids, its not a pipe dream its true. "In fact, demand is falling in some countries. According to economist John Kemp at the commodities firm Sempra Metals, the U.S. consumed 4 percent less petroleum in January 2008" "Even China's thirst for oil is abating somewhat. Its demand for oil, which once rose at 10 percent per year, has now dropped to 6 percent per year" "So supply is up; relative demand is down and yet, the price of oil is soaring. What's going on? Last week, Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson blamed a third of the recent run up in oil prices on the weak dollar, another third on geopolitical uncertainty, and the rest on market speculation." http://www.freedomszone.com/archives/2008/03/oil_supply_up_relative_demand.php 4% in JANUARY, the coldest month of the year! I didnt even read this article prior to today, this has been my census for awhile.
