  1. I havent seen anyone mention pressure. If guys have been pounding them on a certain color for awhile a color change can make a big difference. With that said, you will never see me throw bubblegum
  2. I dont run a hat cam but I run a kodak playsport which goes everywhere. I used mine yesterday driving around my local lake that is drawn down for winter and filming sturcture so in the spring I can review whats out there.
  3. Travel to more lakes. Its too easy when you live five mins from one to just drop in. My boat is easy on gas so I should be able to take it more places.
  4. I dont see a jig on your list or techniques. I would hide everything till you learn to fish jigs. In my mind it is the number one lure in the bass world. As evidence, look how many jig companies their are, look at all the baits that revolve around jigging... jigs are the biggest staple to learn. I have a buddy I fish with, says he never fishes jigs because he doesnt catch anything on them in this specific lake. He also claims that finding big fish in the same lake is really tough. In that same lake I weekly put fish in my boat near the 5lb mark but I have confidence in jigs. I dont just throw it once and decide it doesnt work and pick up a frog cause frogn is fun. Jigs are boring most of the time, theres nothing to see, you get hung up... but when its on, its on.
  5. I lost my PB at the boat on a Single Fish Wed Night Lunker Tournament. Caught the fish on a jig off a rock point in 15' of water. Took a stab at it with the net and he spit the jig, rookie move. For sure wouldve been the winner that night as the bass that won was 7lbs and this fish dwarfed it.
  6. Unfortunately the only tackle shop immediate to me is a very small one with such old inventory that I am not sure anyone whos not a bait fisherman uses it.
  7. Just think boys, 3-4 more months and that place will be like the pot at the end of the rainbow
  8. I have contacted the clubs I can find online and I keep coming up millhouse on having any information returned to me. I am hoping to fish a points race individual tournament trail this season, If anyone can assist, I would appreciate it. email is jlh42581 at gmail
  9. The fire has better functionality and if you ever take it somewhere you need to get on a network that uses a proxy server you will need to be able to set that. The fire will allow it.
  10. Go to your local pharmacy and ask them to save you the desicant packs that come in large bottles of pills. Throw those in your boxes and theyll prevent rust.
  11. I just had a free suggestion for you. Learn how to read topographic maps and get maps of the lake that you want to fish. Even smaller lakes you should be able to find in certain mapping software. Then you got a pretty close idea to where your at. You can also search the bottom with crankbaits and jigs. For example, you throw a crank that goes to 10ft and youre not hitting bottom, you know its more then ten feet. Or that same crank bangs at the start and then you watch the line get deeper and deeper. I was where you are 10 years ago and from my point of view I just would not do it. If I were you, id put any free money I had into investments and watch it grow till you get the money you want.
  12. I know the feeling. When I was about your age I bought my first boat a 14ft flatbottom that I paid $500 for with the trailer. It had a junk 5hp outboard but it still fished. I piled every bit of free money into it and then when I sold it I lost my rear. My current boat I paid for in cash and luckily I have a place to store it. Im 31 and have been bass fishing ever since I could hold a pole. I just bought my second boat this year. Before that it was wade to fish, fish a friends boat, fish the bank or dont go. Bet if you look around at school you could find some guys locally who have boats that are into artificials. This gets you on bigger water and even possibly into local tournaments. If you dont have a bass fishing club, start one. Youll be surprised who fishes. Im the network admin at the college which I attended. One of the current students, a female is a tournament striper fisherman. You just never know whos into what till you put what you like to do out there.
  13. Makes sense. Personally, I am not much older than you 31 and have a family so I know what tight funds is like. I sold my motorcycle to buy my bass boat. I wouldnt do it, I would just fish and use the big boat. Are you fishing this in small ponds, rivers or large lakes? I cant see using it in the first two making much difference
  14. Is the 9ft raft by choice? I cant see dumping money into that just to see the bottom. I would just buy an ice flasher so that some day you could move it to a bigger boat.
  15. Heres my thoughts as one of the youngest guys to ever hold a flyfishing sponsorship that I gave up. 1: Nothing is free! When you get free stuff, you are expected to work, be it shows.. whatever... be prepared to travel and spend your money doing so 2: Once you turn something into a job, its no longer fun
  16. the academy link is the same bottle i own, it has oz as well as graduations from 25:1 to 100:1... you just fill it right to the line of how much gas is going in. When putting in things like seafoam you measure it out by the oz
  17. Does it have a hotstart in the throttle control? My evinrude, same year does and it WILL NOT start without it in neutral and fully forward on a cold motor. Also... 3oz to the gallon is rich. I believe its 2.56oz/gallon for a 50:1 ratio
  18. I also believe I have a loose neutral or worn out neutral switch. When it fails to start if you rock the control forward and back a time or two it will crank right over.
  19. I did the impeller kit over the weeked and its running much better however i am still convinced it could use the carb rebuilt which wont happen till spring at the earliest. The impeller had never been replaced. Motor is a 92 there was no sign of a wrench ever on it. Fins were cracked and Im surprised not blown apart. The housing was scorched from the impeller.
  20. Are you in the glendale club? I thought they were fishing Kinzua this weekend, yellow creek next and then the following raystown
  21. Thats what I am thinking too, thanks! The old lady is jacked. She thinks I bought a junk motor. I had to explain to her that motors need maintence and not everyone is smart enough to keep up with it. Shes used to when a car has a problem youre thousands in the hole. No idea a water pump kit is $35 and would end this issue. Ugh... city women.
  22. Ok guys, I need some help as I am baffled. The motor runs first and foremost, it starts and runs when its cold. If I push the throttle forward by using the "hot start" button then it pee's fine. What my delema is... When its sitting at idle it doesnt pee when hooked up to the hose, more throttle it pee's fine. After sitting at idle and not peeing I believe its overheating because it shuts down and then the starter wont even crank over. I can hear the solenoid click but thats it. Looking at it with the cover off. I can see the drive assembly of the starter doesnt even attempt to go up and catch the flywheel. If it sits for awhile and cools back down... whamo it fires right back up. Im not sure where to begin here, is it an impeller issue, is it a thermostat issue, is it a starter issue? Any help would be awesome. I just acquired this motor and I dont have a manual yet but its becoming apparent I need one asap. If it helps at all the model is the E25ELENS
  23. Correct, theres a stream channel running through it where most of the fish go. Its not completely drained but its about 1/8th the size when drained. Check it out on the map service... http://www.bassresource.com/maps/maps.html name: Foster Joseph Sayers Dam state: PA
  24. Rig it wacky so it flips over itself.
  25. Ive never seen the strap go under the roller. Thats gotta be your problem. As for making it harder to get off, submerge the trailer more. I wouldnt pull it sitting like that, the keel should be right on that roller. Pull the strap the whole way out, wind the other way, put the hook outside the roller, should bring you right on top.
