  1. I think it still is, if you look at the browning reels they look identical
  2. UV Wader Repair. Put it on, take it outside
  3. I wasnt offended in the least. The conversations here are mild compared to the conversations I have with others in PA about whitetail mismangement.
  4. Someone mentioned not going broke to fish. While some people spend $150 a month for every channel on availble on tv, I have a cable internet connection, two roku boxes, an svideo link to my laptop and spend $49.99 for high speed cable internet. We watch all the same shows, commercial free that you guys are paying $150 for. Thats all extra money to go to other things. My boat, I paid for in cash My only other debt is a $10k vehicle loan(which if not for the old lady I wouldnt have either but my 94 blazer wasnt "safe enough") and $20K in college loans Its all about the decisions you make, I dont feel bad when I buy something I want because my family doesnt suffer to do so.
  5. I found a clown rapala jerk the other day in there for $2
  6. Hootie, my internet skin is like kevlar

  8. I wouldve claimed that one for sure
  9. A dose of common sense must come with where you decide to throw a $15 LC. If youre hanging up weedless texas rigs and you fire a LC crank into there well then I got no sympathy.
  10. The point being... is it really cheaper if you have to use 3 of them to every 1 good one or is it the same? I would rather run the good one then buy three junk ones to get the same amount of fishing.
  11. I use a tie fast knot tying tool
  12. My question is why would you wear a jersey with company logos all over it that give you no incentive other than you use their baits at full price. Its like the guy who puts a giant Mathews sticker across his entire back window. Matt is probably laughing all the way to the bank, free advertising and they paid for the sticker too... win win for the company.
  13. I hardly think my tackle says look at me. My tackle is probably worth as much as my boat but the only one who knows whats in that boat is me. Im with the quality guys. Sure you can get off dirt cheap with a $1 spinnerbait made in china that runs like garbage or you can order a north star for two dollars more, support someone who loves the sport as much as you do and the bait will actually run right and the skirt wont fall off day one.
  14. Living rubber causes a lot of movement, its round compared to flat. The time you would choose a jig without living rubber would be when you need something more finesse. When youre using big bulky trailers with craws a flapn thats when you want living rubber.
  15. If its in good shape with good maintenance id jump. Check the trailer, the lower unit, everything. Make him take you out on the water and you be there from the time the boat goes in to see how it starts cold.
  16. My buddy has a beautiful boat and he actually told me the other day that he wants to join a club and let someone else run the trolling motor to see what he is doing wrong.
  17. If you guys come across any pre rapala wiggle warts you dont feel like using Ill take them off of ya, wouldnt want you to waste space.
  18. The low profile crappie max is made to throw 10lb line tops and small baits... hence my comparison. I know its no pixy but had they had a lefty I couldve lived with it while saving for a pixy. That type r is $450
  19. I saw the bass pro crappie max and thought... WOW, same principle as the pixy but way cheaper and I was interested immediately. Logged on to look at it, right hand only. Any other alternative reel to the pixy that comes in a lefty?
  20. Step it down in size and put something on there with big flapping craws to slow the drop. Try a 3/8 ounce with a paca chunk or something similar. Head to the rip rap or weed edges pre spawn and you will catch fish. The black blue jig is the most popular combo in bass fishing however I rarely encounter water that dirty and mainly use them at night. My top color is a summer craw pattern but thats because thats what my crayfish look like. Flip over some rocks where you are fishing and look at their colors. Then, think about what your main forage baitfish is also. My lakes are gills and crappies, not so much shad although shad colors work well too.
  21. Buy one backpack that can do it all from fishing, camping, hiking and hunting I searched a long time before I found the eberlestock x2
  22. Siebert Jig heads are awesome, Ive used some boss jigs but the siebert ones are awesome and my new supplier
  23. Start small, open up the side plate and pull the spool out and clean in there. When you feel brave again take the handle off and open the other side and look at it. Theres really not much to be scared of when you have the diagram. Lay out a clean paper towel and lay the parts in order as they come out, then reverse it to put it back together. When you open that gear side the first time, just pay attention and clean what you can without removing too much. Youll build confidence over time. If youre REALLY afraid of it, go on ebay and find an OLD baitcaster that someone is practically giving away to practice on, or even the forums here. Heck you might end up with a really awesome reel once you get it cleaned up. My cheapest reel performs like a reel twice its price. Initially before I started tearing into them I thought it was junk. Now I think its awesome, amazing what good bearings, cleaning and good grease/oil can do for a reel. I bet I could pitch an 1/16th ounce lure on it if I really wanted to try.
  24. Do you not want or cant afford a boat payment? Cause if you have the cash thats a pretty substantial payment on a new boat. You can buy 19ft tracker pro team with all new gear for 18k, last years model and maybe even cheaper. If you have $8000 down youre talking 233 a month. We need to know what your price range is. My buddy bought a really nice triton for 8k used, its 21 feet. Keep in mind the power you need to tow a big glass boat too is significantly more than aluminum. I fish a 17ft aluminum... take it out on the biggest inland lake in pa but I would never run it open water erie without immaculate conditions.
