  1. Im planning to use some to sow the crotch in my hunting bibs, regular thread just doesnt hold up. Great for tying jigs too.
  2. I have two rainsuits, the one that stays in the boat is a frogg toggs toads the other is a herters foul tech. I wore the herters in hurricane sandy hunting in ohio for five strait days and never got wet.
  3. I find the exact opposite to be true. Additionally, braid has zero memory.
  4. I need a friend like you
  5. Heres a 7.1 lexa, righty same price http://www.ebay.com/itm/Daiwa-Lexa-100HS-Baitcasting-Fishing-RH-Right-Hand-Reel-7-1-1-LEXA100HS-/300792628189?_trksid=p2047675.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D163%26meid%3D4965658351856038016%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D1088%26rk%3D4%26sd%3D300792634773%26
  6. Lexa for $105 shipped - This link is a lefty http://www.ebay.com/itm/300792634773?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Its not a 7.1 but keep in mind this reel retails for $139.99 plus tax and shipping
  7. I wouldnt buy either. I have an exceler on my bench right now that needs a new side plate. When I removed the bearing to service it, the holder holding the brake ring craked because they use a cog style retainer in it rather than a clip. I just ordered a lexa on ebay new for $105 shipped. If I wouldnt have gotten it I wouldve went for the aird.
  8. I did yesterday, its going to come out well. It takes a little elbow greese and time but when its done it will be a DRASTIC improvement. I might go that route later after I get this oxidation off. Its actually almost black in some areas cause the previous owner never did anything. The home solutions took the scum line off, certain products but wouldnt touch the black. Anyhow, I wanted to also mention this little gem I found the other day. I plan to spray but you can really get some good looking paint jobs for very little. I am not painting the boat, my trailer needs a little tlc on the wheel wells. The $50 paint job.... http://www.rickwrench.com/index79master.htm?http://www.rickwrench.com/50dollarpaint.html http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=2331682&page=0&fpart=1&vc=1
  9. If you can get the carb off and dont really feel like dealing with it take it and the rebuild kit to a motorcycle shop and have them rebuild it. Theyll have a tank.
  10. Keep in mind my list doesnt include that I tie all my own jigs now from regular to hair and all of the tackle I already have in my boat from multiple sammys to 50-60 bags of soft plastic.
  11. These were all links, however some link to sites not allowed. Here is a list of my "LURES" bookmark that doesnt include my cabelas or bass pro wishlists which are as long or longer. Anyhow, theres probably tournament tools that might not be relevant in there that you wont need but this should help.
  12. I have an amp and although it feels good to fish they are junk. I mistakenly quoted it as being berkleys lightening series previously, let me state for the record I was wrong then. This amp rod the guide wrap started to peel at the handle after trip one. Thank god I am good with epoxy resin. The next time I went looking for a rod every one of these amps that dicks sports had in stock had some kind of defect or was flat out broken. Stay away from this rod.
  13. Just wanted to give an update. The bottom of my tracker looks OLD, it is a 92. Ive tried all the tricks except the brightener. Well yesterday I took a piece of super fine steel wool to a test area. It works awesome. I will be making a video showing how well it works when we get a warm day.
  14. Yes they can change the action as well. Some of the older lures really depend on it
  15. Smallies in the rivers or creeks will stack up below the riffles in wamer weather. They do so because its an easy ambush point... they expend less energy in fast water and theres more oxygen there. You might ask how a fish in fast water is using less energy... Well, they are like an airplane, they use the pectoral fins to pitch and yaw and hold position. A fish expends much more energy holding position in slack water. If you watch a fish in slack water, all of the fins move to hold position. Not so in the fast current. A great video is feeding lies. Yes its filmed based on trout but the knowledge of moving water is still the same. Its filmed underwater. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VeJPXgIpAg
  16. Bald eagle smallies fish best from the bridge in milesburg up. It gets SUPER LOW. I brought a 4lb fish out of there two summers ago on a pop r at dusk.
  17. Ive posted a few topics and had my post edited before I realize its a no no. Is there a master list of sites we cant discuss?

Guess my title is edited.... ok... the online fishing tournament... How many of you participate? Won anything? Ive been looking at it for years, now that they have a northern bass division I might give it a shot this year on weeks I dont have a full blown tournament.
  19. Ours is attached to a shopping mall, its not nearly as big as cabelas but I am thankful for that because the hoards of people dont show up just to look at an elephant mount. Every time I have ever been in a cabelas I came out and said never again.
  20. What did you use for an aluminum brightener? I need to do my tracker
  21. Next time you wanna sell a $500 rod at half price, PM me
  22. Catching fish on a specific bait is not a pattern in my eyes. A pattern to me would look like this: On an overcast day, mid summer in the 90's, I found that they were feeding on crayfish in the rip rap on the east side of the bridge as the sun started toward the horizon. They want a slow fall rate, large profile craw imitation as the fish in my livewell were barfn up shells.
