  1. You have boat insurance id assume? Thats essentially what an onboard charger does as well. It charges then switches into a maintenance mode similar to a maintainer.
  2. The big dog already has 3/4 of the stuff headed to me, I cant wait to lay it all out lol. Im getting a 51 series chronarch, cant wait to try that.
  3. I think BASS makes it a little easier to just guess too, with five brackets you can pick one guy in every one without any need to run numbers much. With that said in FLW you could guess your way to the top, but you'd have to be very lucky with a $200 salary cap. To balance the team correctly you must look, otherwise youll have a couple of guys who are heavy hitters career wise and none of the up and comers. Its pretty hard to predict fishing and performance on it, id say the odds have to be worse than any other fantasy sport. Hunting has or had one, I havent played in a few years and that one was almost as impossible. People hunting africa could have early points, people drawing a sheep tag and filling it could have major points. I gave up on that one after year one.
  4. I have no idea if I get anything from strike king or not. Havent been contacted by them. I sure hope its not nothing, I fish more SK baits than anything else. Ive watched every year of flw for the last five years, so i know who to keep an eye on. Guys like Andy Morgan or Brian Thrift who have been top 10 AOY for like 8 years in a row, you cant ever count them out. Whos the newer guys doing well, whats the current fishing conditions on the lake theyre at and what are certain anglers strengths. I weight top ten finishes and avg finish then based on whos strengths should fish, also keeping in mind whos leading AOY currently. The numbers can at times be misleading, guys whove been at it for years can be weighted very heavy but not be doing well in recent years. Once I narrow down my top ten once, ill go back and inspect the angler individual against that body of water and see his record on that lake recently (again this doesnt always work). You can see guys who are fishing a lot on the same lake that are locals and tell they will sometimes do very well. The numbers also are misleading in that they are not all relative to the tour, they count sub tours too. Soo the short answer is yes, I did A LOT of looking into each event. I did so much I never focused much as much on the Bass events as I dont know the angler strengths as well. I also missed the first three BASS events and knew id never be in the mix this season. At one point this season in FLW after bombing the first tournament I was 3rd overall in the world and I thought I had a great chance to win it all. Then I had two back to back very bad tournaments where the research above was wrong and guys who are VERY good did bad. That dropped me to 44th and 10th in the TW standings. My cup picks brought me back out of the hole. One other thing I do is try to balance my team since FLW works on a limited budget format. In the early years you could stack your deck with all the best anglers. Funny, I didnt do well then. I try to keep my overall team average pretty high without having a lot of guys that cost less due to their ranks. BUT those bottom guys sometimes do VERY well too, Brandon Cobb had a phenominal year and was undervalued for a long time, so was Zach Birge. So if you werent paying attention to the current season and keeping tabs, they flew under the radar.
  5. salt wont soon be great, its best in early spring and summer. the reason is in areas that lack it, it balances out everything green in their diet. acorns are starting to drop now, corn is probably ready in certain areas... food sources are shifting big time. I had a cam out in a saddle for a week two weeks ago and had 4 bucks and a few doe's with fawns on the cam. Zero bait of any kind, not even scent.
  6. Honestly, do you want me to tell you two things that will work, I know youll think this is a lie but I assure you its not. Ive only ever tested it in scrapes. 1: human urine 2: store bought amonia - not lemon scent obviously, just regular
  7. Thank you Fin. I waivered mid season when guys I expected to do well did really bad, it cost me winning it overall. It changes so much season to season that you cant expect a guy who did well last year to do well. You have to watch every thing and even then its a wild stab in the dark. Really, a lot boils down to luck. Ill take the soothe over not doing well in my own tournaments this season.
  8. NONE of you thats who! I thought I had FLW fantasy fishing won mid season, i missed first place just shy of 400 points due two bad mid season events. 11th overall in the world, 1st in the strike king league, 5th in the other big league. When that TW package shows up I might have a heart attack! Standings were due to post last thursday and ive been on the edge of my seat, I even went as far as calculation of points on my own. My math was right that I wouldnt make the big cut but I was right in my other calculations. Do I get to alter my signiture for the year and rub it in as I know most of you are in the SK league?
  9. What makes it odd? Tak is a story that anyone should get excited about, went for it and made it. Theres a little bit of language barrier but he does pretty well.
  10. Andy Morgan, that dude USUALLY finds fish and him and Thrifts AOY positionings have been unreal. I have so much confidence in the both of them they get me hammered in fantasy fishing. I dropped from 4th in the world to 40th in 2 weeks!
  11. Happens at even the local level, the reason I left the club I joined. I loved fishing the events but when you get to the dock end of day and get a cold shoulder from a small group of guys over $20 its pretty pathetic. I think the professionalism in the bigger tours are worth the extra cost.
  12. You fish pic guys should check out the clipshot, i own 4, made by hand by the owner here in the USA!
  13. My fiance chose to get married on this river in 2017 , she doesnt even bass fish. I guess Ill have to have a new boat by then
  14. Iowa good zones three years of points to draw year four on a bow tag.
  15. You gotta be willing to wing them into stuff you might not get it back. Coming over a log and kill it, make it look like wounded bait. Biggest difference for me in a chatterbait is the lack of lift. A spinnerbait blades create lift, chatterbaits not so much. A chatterbait is closer to a crankbait and a jig than a spinnerbait.
  16. I'd take that first day and do nothing but graph. I never have that much pre practice
  17. Yeah last time I was out the water was 41, the main channel was mud and my trolling motor the whole way up could barely maintain position let alone gain ground.
  18. First trip the trim pump air locked the water was so cold. Second trip it was like hurricane force winds and i was back lashing constantly. Another week or two I'll try again. Used to live five mins from a lake. Now it's forty mins.
  19. If you deck a Jon start with a brand new one. My first boat was a decked 14' 1979 terry. Needed a new transom the day I bought it for $500. Yeah i only had $2500 total in it when I was done but A LOT of work is an understatement.
  20. Biffle is a wild card he could win anywhere
  21. Flippers will win this one
  22. All I know is he was on my team and I finally smoked all of you in the SK league
  23. That bottle is an absolute nightmare for sure. Never used the grease, use cals
  24. I had a trim issue over the weekend. Sitting here something crossed my mind. Is hot sauce nothing more than repackaged ATF? If it's not it's gotta be super close.
