  1. So to note, one of my wins was FLW and the other was BASS Things I did to win 1: Checked the water/weather conditions before the tournament - a cold front can turn a smash fest into a dropshot video game fishing tournament 2: Knew angler strengths on each side - If youre going to a smallmouth fishery, the guys who flip dont usually win that 3: Looked for high odds locals (though this can hurt you) 4: The biggest favorite to win usually doesnt win, spend your "budget" wisely, its better to have 4 pretty good guys and a hammer then to have 3 top ranked for the tournament guys who blow it. 5: Never ever count out the big power sticks: KVD, Hackney, Martens(RIP), Wheeler, Palaniuk... if theyve won AOY or multiple AOY's and it fishes their style...
  2. I'm watching the review on YouTube. I can't help but think Tommy Sanders and Mark Zona are the voices of bassmaster.
  3. Bad part was I already had a skeeter filled to the brim. I haven't played since the second win. Still going through so much tackle that I can't even own a bait monkey. Walked out to the garage before I went to order the other day, came back in and closed the browser.
  4. I won a tacklewarehouse top ten in the nation twice. The amount of gear tacklewarehouse sent me was nothing short of ridiculous. Back to back years 2015/2016. I gave so many baits to kids I have lost count. Literally opened boxes and said, take anything you want. Heres my 5th place Heres my 9th place
  5. Most days I can get away with 3. Its amazing theyve sold us the idea that tying on a new lure in 8 hours of fishing time is somehow gonna make us miss that magical winning fish.
  6. Even a battery in a series can produce 12 volts as long as you dont connect the jumper in the series setup. Just hook directly to one battery.
  7. Zero chance im hacking apart a $15 megabass spinnerbait
  8. Ill usually wear some cheap gardening/construction gloves. However, I got a rechargeable hand warmer for christmas that is unbelievable. Typically I choose to use only the big size disposables. Even those cant hold a candle to this thing. Turn it on, its hot within 10 seconds.
  9. I was admiring your boat yesterday, dont you have a jet? Does it not get skinny enough? How much do you want for it, you can go find the next one
  10. Ive had 50 fish days in knee deep water that was about 39 degrees. River fish dont need to expend near the energy in fast water, they pitch and yaw like airplanes.
  11. The problem stems from the fact once they enter the reboot loop the only option is to send it to if I remember correctly California. Which they then at the time sent it to Mexico. If and when the testing was complete you got a refurbished unit if you didnt pay to upgrade. About 6-8 weeks of running around with a gaping hole in your console/bow. Happened once and I wrote it off as a fluke. The second time it happened on a completely different update I was livid. Lowrance was known for years to have these types of problems. My Skeeter dealer for a few years stopped installling all lowrances on new boats, they didnt even offer it. Hopefully they ironed it out but Im done. Never had a humminbird brick or a garmin.
  12. Two weeks out should be plenty for a device that should update in under a minute. Maybe they should try hiring real developers instead of the lowest paid people they can find. Just a suggestion. Furthermore they like to blame the end user for their garbage updates. At which point they expect you to upgrade the unit rather than they repair it on their dime. Tell me youve never dealt with lowrance without telling me youve never dealt with lowrance.
  13. After my experiences with Lowrance on my Skeeter they are literally the bottom of my list. I had not one but two brick on their updates right before tournaments I had to send back. Keep in mind, Ive worked in IT now for 18 years, BIG tech. If such a problem can present with a person like me the average person would be JACKED.
  14. A Samick Sage or PSE Night Hawk will be near $150 with a decent following. You dont need different arrows, shoot what you got.
  15. I cant get down with big honking round reels. My big swimbait rod is using a revo winch.
  16. We're approaching critical mass on outdoor technology. There's nothing sacred anymore. We have gis mapping showing us oak trees within property boundaries. Forward facing, side imaging, invisible line, cell cameras, heated clothes, 500fps crossguns. It's a matter of how far you wanna take it. You can't control the other guy, worrying about him is foolish. Worry about better things like coaching your community kids to be better people. That's a big ole bobcat, I thought my 6 was big.
  17. Here here! I found a lot of guys in nation had their own business they could do whatever they want! They're definitely not every day guys showing up at the ramp that you're fishing against.
  18. As much as I loathe facebook/meta, nothing beats facebook marketplace. I am considering opening a new account ONLY to use that part.
  19. I bet the minnow you are talking about is called a black nose dace Heres one I found: https://www.facebook.com/109393840710646/posts/our-black-nose-dace-pattern-in-our-80mm-jerkbait-we-cant-tell-which-is-which/124706002512763/
  20. Used to honk sport bikes. Had a 600rr I bought new, sold it with 17000 miles on it. I now honk on a can am maverick sport max 1000r.
  21. 80% highway. I also don't honk on that v8 very often. When everyone is doing 85 in the 70 I'm doing 70. I Italian tune it every now and then but I don't hammer it much. Towing it's 14.
  22. 2014 Tundra Double Cab Limited TRD - gets about 17 avg. I save a ton of money by not having a payment. Oh and I also work remote 3 days a week.
