  1. What if i whomp you on a 22nd nezumma rat or a roman mother. I sure aint sending you a $200-$400 swimbait, i like you guys just not that much. For the record: I own nothing but cordell spots out of the bargin bin at walmart Rather than buying baits for eachother, we could just do the winner gets to add to their signiture the months they won. Ex: 2014 - NE BR Montly Champion: May, Oct, Dec
  2. Carry a toilet to take a dump hunting... ive heard it all.
  3. Headed out with the boy here after i cure my birthday hangover to plant crab apple starts on public lands.
  4. I shot about a 100" 8pt opening day of pa's archery season at the last min of legal light. 18 yards, I double lunged him. He ran into weeds about chest high. As I was taking the stand down it started pouring rain. Walked past the buck for hours on end and couldnt see him. Found him 60 yards from the stand opening day of gun season, with no blood and the tall weeds I never saw him.
  5. was there a front of any type that came through? the bluebird skies tell me you might have just missed one, my bass get lock jaw post frontal. I fished yesterday and threw everything from swimbaits to shakey heads and the only thing they would hit is a really small jerkbait. Think a 78sp or a size 8 xrap. When they hit it was like lightening fast if you didnt set it they were gone.
  6. Theres no doubt in my mind that with the right spinnerbait or buzz you could rip the skirt right off and put the head inside a tube
  7. Nah, I too had a sportbike until two years ago. Thats not what people complain about. They complain about things like... Lane Splitting at WARP speed Riding wheelies on the freeway in traffic Coming past your house at mach 3 Blocking all the lanes so you and your buddies can ride in a pack Modding your exhaust so you can have the loudest bike in town I never once had a problem in the 18000 miles I put on my last bike because there is a time and place for everything.
  8. First one was an abu round reel at about 15 years of age. I couldnt figure it out for the life of me, dont know if it had brakes, cant remember. Returned it in a week as I knew the store owner and never picked up another for about five years.
  9. I can barely get up a serious grade with my grand vitara and I only own a 17' aluminum with a 25. Im in the market for a new vehicle so I can be in the market for a glass boat. I wont consider anything thats not a v8 and if I could get it with 20" rotors I would. A glass boat in my opinion should have trailer brakes.
  10. Its everywhere not just fish. I had to drive down the middle of both lanes earlier to keep jerks from flying up and forcing their way over in a line of traffic a mile long.
  11. Spent fifty bucks to fish for ten mins at the beach. Went on vacation five hundred miles from home and it never got above 40. Broke a $1400 porcelain veneer biting line. Went to bps and I've outgrown it, too much of a bait snob.
  12. Speculation here would be they'd don't make that ratio
  13. I'll warn ya that yes elaztech baits float but they're extremely hard to get onto a screw lock on a shakey.
  14. Find the bait, find the fish right? Well not so yesterday. Found a cove with 10,000 gizzard shad in it, not a game fish in there eating them. They were dying left and right, it was the most absurd thing I have ever seen. Gizzard shad, laying on the bottom dead and bass god knows where.
  15. If someone decides to share their hard work with you, at least return the clean bottle in which it came in minus a label if it has one. Heck for that matter even the bottle would be nice. I reuse bottles and cleaning labels has me considering buying them. The nice ones are $20 a case.... empty! So to all in the world, if someone gives you some of their home made potion to sip on, at least give the bottle back.
  16. On second thought ill need 7, I HAVE to have a dedicated spinnerbait/chatterbait rod
  17. I will say I have reached the point where I actually have too many rods. I litterally could not fit another on my boat currently and I believe its a little absurd. 4 baitcasting setups is about ideal and two spinning rods. I have ten at the moment, like I said, thats too many in my opinion. Im going to tame the field as follows 1 - Heavy swimbait rod 1 - Heavy FastJig/Texas rig rod 1 - MH XF Jerkbait/Topwater 1 - M Mod Crankn Rod 1 - ML 7' shakey/senko/dropshot 1 - M 6' all smaller baits like super small crankbaits
  18. i turned a goofy colored swimbait into a baby bass last week with sharpies
  19. If the ramp isnt busy I always let my motor warm up while the boat is still on the trailer, ive had a few instances last summer when dealing with ethenol eating fuel system parts and chasing a ghost for awhile. Here, the ramps arent busy yet unless theres a tournament. The other day I had the ramp to myself for my first time out for the year for a solid 15 mins. Prep your boat before you pull onto the ramp. Everything should be ready to go when you start backing down, always a good idea to tilt your motor going in and coming out. Make sure the straps are off, the plug is in and not much can go wrong. Depending on age of the boat, you might start having ethenol problems soon if theyve never been dealt with prior.
  20. Weve finally lost ice about two weeks back. Ive got my boat hooked up as its supposed to be in the 70s today, though they are calling for snow again this week unless that changed last night. Were heading to the outer banks tuesday. Im taking an old rod and gonna give that a go too.
  21. i agree, a t rig is not a wacky is not a jerk rod. the actions are way too different TRig - mh/h - fast action wacky - ml to m - mod/mod fast spinning jerk - mh - extra fast
  22. Ive really stepped back from trout fishing. Burned myself out on it in my younger days, if you know my story you know why. Today was opening morning of PA's put and take trout fishing. I dont do much taking, if any and continued that tradition today. Ended up letting 12 decent size fish go, all rainbows. Caught them all but three on a size 14 bead head bubble gum colored egg pattern. The others came to standard nymphs. Funny, I was catching them and looking at them from a standpoint of a bass eating them and how big they were in relation to a swimbait. Not many of our bass lakes here have trout.
  23. I like a moderate action period, so having a chance to use it for cranking is right up my alley. A rod should flex in my opinion, its a rod, not a piece of steel. Theres no doubt I can feel lures much better with a soft rod
  24. My fear of putting anything into a bearing thats never been flushed is just that, not knowing whats on it. Mixing lubes of any type in my book isnt a great idea.
  25. I dont even bother, their rebates really arent much to get excited about
