Just repowered the boat, only picked up about 10mph but with the trim/tilt its so much of a nicer ride. The motor isnt new but just rebuilt and the rebuild has a 30 day warranty so I have it broken in and im putting as much time on it as possible with working before 30 is up.
Yesterday I was up with the birds in the heavy fog at sayers dam here in central pa. I absolutely hate this lake but its sooooo convenient. Attempted to launch my boat with the straps still on the trailer. Boat traffic, heck for that matter bass traffic is insane. I managed three saturday morning on a senko and a drop shot. I think that was pretty good, out of the hundred or so boats it seemed were out I didnt see anyone hook up. Who knows though, my motto is theres always someone who found them and found what they really wanted. A buddy fished Bush and said he and his dad wouldve had about a 18lb combined bag, we both never caught a fish till 10:30
Today I was supposed to fish a tournament at Raystown with a daylight launch. It required me to leave at 3am. Relying on cell technology instead of a normal clock I set my alarm, what I failed to notice was the day was set to only saturday and I never woke up till it got daylight in the bedroom at about 5:30, pretty heated but since I had a cooler packed I headed back to sayers this morning. Same story again, tough fishing but way less boats due to what I am certain is multiple tournaments with different organizers on other lakes. I could not buy a bite till 10am and then I caught a smallmouth on a senko. After that I kept noticing what looked like baby shad or baby crappies darting all over and eating bugs on top. I switched to a gold flake colored silver tube and caught a LM and then that was it. I tried top, bottom and in between on the lake. Talked to a guy at the launch and he said he had two also for the day.
Last couple times I have been down there its been insane the amount of bass boats fishing. You can stop, look around and 90% of the boats are people bass fishing.
