  1. A 3/4 ounce Black/blue war eagle spinnerbait at night is my favorite bait to throw. But I don’t own a single spinnerbait that is made to throw during the day. I hate them!!!!!
  2. Best way I can describe it. Tungsten is like making love unprotected. Lead is like wearing a condom. This is the only way I have figured out how to explain this to people. Once you go to tungsten you won’t go back. I tried
  3. I am a hard core musky fisherman in the fall. Way before the WP came out I would catch big bass on the musky sized top raider. I always said I needed to make a smaller one for bass. I sure did miss out on that one
  4. I have my biggest payout tournament coming up. The fluke bite is on. I still have nightmares about all the large fish I’ve lost while fluke fishing. I changed to Trokar straight hooks and last time out I didn’t lose a fish, but last year I had 2 6# come up and swim off with the fluke totally out of sight in the fishes mouth to set hook and never feel the fish. Any info would be great
  5. I only throw the RICO popper. I became a firm believe when I was fishing a large payout tournament. The top water bite was on and I was catching 4-5 fish to my partners one. I also would go right behind other boats throwing poppers and catch fish.
  6. What type of materials do you use in making brush piles for bass? I seem to be good at attracting crappie and small bass. Can't quit figure out the makings of a brush pile for larger bass.
  7. Here are a few more lures that I feel would work great on big bass lakes. I have had success catching big bass on them on my lake which is a very poor bass lake. Worth a try. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
  8. This is for you guys that fish lake where a 8-10#+ largemouth is a possibility. my lake is know for world class musky. One of the go to lures In the fall is a Joe butcher top raider. They have been around for 20+ years. A 7# bass on my lake is something to talk about, and very rare. I have caught many in the fall throwing a top raider. They are exactly like a whopper plopper, just a bigger and taller profile. That of a 12-14 " bass or trout. You guys that fish for those giant bass might need to give them a try...... Ps... Your welcome.
  9. Man!! I really missed out making $$$$. I have fished for musky for 20+ years. Since 1996 I have used a butcher topraider for musky, I have caught some huge largemouth on it. This lure is the size and profile of a 12-14" bass or trout. I allways said. "Man I should make a smaller version of this for bass." 15 years later we have the whopper plopper. Oh well.
  10. Robo 6" in red craw, my local lake this is magic. Best thing everyone throws green pumpkin. So I keep this color flow to the chest.
  11. I am looking for bandit flat maxx deep running cranks. I don't know the color, but it's the bright red with black back and black lines on side of bait. They only make it in red now but they don't have the black lines on the side. Red craw is the color, but they dont produce them with the black lines. If anyone has any or knows where some are, I'm ready to buy asap. Thanks.
  12. My home lake from mid. june till sept. i fish night time tournament. I have fished them for more than 10 years. here are some things i have learned. less is more, only have enough rods out that you will use. i have broke many $$$$ rods at night. A spot light is a good idea also some kind of cap light. I use a flor. night light use this with clear/blue flor. line and you can see your line (i would not fish without one). as for lures, Bigger is better, bass key in on vibration at night. 10" worms, large jigs, large colorado blade spinnerbait (slow-role) crankbaits. color selection is easy, black, black/blue, blue flake.
  13. i have been wanting to fish guntersville for years. my dad is getting older and has lung cancer, he has fish our home lake all his life. (which is a very tough lake) and i was wanting to take him on a fishing trip the last of may (memorial weekend) i was looking for some info on the lake. we love fishing the grass and i know this is a grass lake, i was wanting some lodgeing info? would life something on the lake with easy boat launch, clean and cheap. also it the lake easy to travel, any real shallow hump in the lake, and what lure colors seem to work on this lake. thank for any info
  14. sassy shad, Zara spook, rapala sliver, red fin, bite might be at night on top water, a large Zara spook, red fin , or thunder stick will work well, i go there every year, just remember this color, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, CHROME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also allot of good walleye fishing also, bomber long a jointed, in you guest it, blue/chrome, chrome live shiners, float them below a small balloon. if you have anymore questions pm me, i work for KY. dept. of fish and wildlife and i have a little knowledge of the lake
