thanks! I did get some brush hogs last week but stopped throwing them thinking they might be too big. also, I think I concentrated on the horny toad too much in the lily's. they're pretty thick on top but I should easily be able to punch through them with a t-rig or jig. saturday was my first day really flipping. I stayed at it all day and got pretty good after a couple of hours. it's the only thing that produced. t-rigged wooly bug, 3/8 oz, heavy action rod, 65lb braid. although I might go to 50lb braid for castability. 65 is like friggin rope! i about pulled an old dock down. ;D
also, the first place i fished was the shallow, big weed bed in the middle of the lake with a buzz bait across the top. I thought for sure I would've nailed a couple. they were feeding all around me. maybe I need to downsize the buzzbait or use a topwater that I can pause and stop. :-?
