  1. Fixed that for you. WD-40 is garbage.
  2. Yeah, that doesn't sound too good.
  3. Pretty much unavailable anywhere. For some reason they disco'd the item. NM, T9 found some. Nice!
  4. Do a search, there have been a few epic spoonplugger threads.
  5. By far the most useful tool in my boat. I got mine in the fly shop at Bass Pro, but I see them here: https://www.amazon.com/WilliamJoseph-WHCUTS-Hemocuts/product-reviews/B002KGVHG8
  6. A float plan affixed to the vessel? Make that a law? No. Not on board with that. I've always heard about displaying a float plan on the dash of your vehicle. Not sure how that helps either. No, sharing my plan with someone else along with your expected return will work better. Again, how does knowing the name of the owner of the boat fill in the gaps? How would knowing the name of a victim help anyone save them quicker? My comment about who was worthy was more about the comment of only if my wife was rushing into danger to save me.
  7. This doesn't really add up to me. How does a float plan save any time? Chances are it would be my wife that calls and relays the plan directly to dispatch. Someone would have to somehow figure out what car and what plan lines up with what kayaker that may or may not be in danger. Are registered vessels required to make a float plan? I'm not sure I see the correlation there either. I also don't think that a first responder gets to decide who is worthy of helping. I get it, no one wants to put another in harms way. That said, it's the responders choice to do that job. Complaining about it won't make the stupid go away. Sorry, I just do not agree with that attitude.
  8. I had stickers on my Wilderness Systems Commander. Some of the stickers designated my pro staff status. Other stickers were either from sponsorships I had, or sponsors of this site, and a few others from local bands that I liked. My Hobie Compass only has what it came with.
  9. You can still get erector sets and lincoln logs. I haven't seen a cap gun in years. I remember riding in the back seat of my grandmother's station wagon, facing reverse. I also remember calling dibs on the middle seat with the armrest. We sat on the armrest and could see everything better.
  10. Very sad. I can't imagine the horror. My thoughts are with the victims' families today.
  11. Looks like he's "taking your picture" lol
  12. I usually just call them: 1-877-577-0600
  13. I used to love splitting wood. Until my back decided I should only do a days worth at a time. I still love it, but can't go for more than an hour or so. It's so satisfying when you get one perfectly in one swing. I also like the big rounds that take three wedges to get it to finally split. I feel like I won a war against the log.
  14. I say it doesn't ice over this winter for more than a week.
  15. Do you know the difference between recurring and reoccurring? "Bass" is a common name and doesn't share the same distinction as scientific nomenclature. A LMB is most certainly a bass. So is a sea bass and a litany of other fish given that distinction. By my argument, a Chilean sea bass is a bass even though the name is strictly marketing. This is why I'm okay with centrifugal brakes. I also started a sentence with "so." Correctly, I might add.
  16. A Cardiff and an Okuma Guide Select would be great. I still use my Guide Select quite a bit. There's two models, so pick the one that handles the bait weight you're tying on.
  17. Drives me nuts. People need to stop, so they don't sound dumb anymore.
  18. hook, line, and sinker.... You got trolled
  19. C'mon, it's Tuesday already - where are my weekly dead vermin pics?
  20. That's how you know it's working.
  21. Up north we Yanks used Mercurochrome.
  22. WUSS-ti-sure sauce. We just call it "W-sauce" lol.
  23. Often, the issue is that people occupying the ramp take the position of the have nots, and you are the enemy, or the haves. Despite signage that fishing is prohibited, they are sometimes confrontational, and honestly, I'm not down for a fight out in the sticks with no one around. It's an irritating situation. I suppose I could call the police, but they are at least a half hour away from the ramp and by then it would be too late to prevent any altercation. Most often I try a friendly announcement that I'm pulling the boat out so I need the space, and there might be complaining, but they usually comply. I've had a couple times where I had insults yelled at me, and tried to get me to react. I ignore it, and get the boat on without taking extra time.
  24. I try to give bank anglers all the room they could possibly need, but there are a few places where I have to encroach, like any narrow outlet to the the big lake and at the boat ramp. It's actually really annoying to have to wait for some shmo the reel up before continuing under way.
