  1. Carp are a nuisance up here during spring, though we probably have the next world record swimming around one of the Great Lakes. There is a growing group of anglers using advanced European techniques to catch them. They are interesting to watch. I've caught a few, and it's a bit annoying.
  2. For the first, I would manually select the map card in the settings. For the second, the head and graph are required for SI. You won't be able to simply upgrade the transducer and get SI.
  3. Don't forget cup o'cheese.
  4. I wouldn't correlate skill with gear. A few lines below the top of the line is probably the closest answer to the original question. That is usually where I live with my gear.
  5. There's really only a couple of weeks total where it's totally frozen here. Though I fish for steelhead all through the winter in tributaries.
  6. I'm in a great location for bass fishing.
  7. There was a mod for a photography forum I was on whose handle was CyberDyneSystems.
  8. The machine shop in Philly is unlikely to exist without the sales from the reels made in China. Pretty typical story. American workers won't provide high quality work for pennies. So, I'm not sure what your point is, Tom? I wonder how many people Pure Fishing employs here in the US?
  9. He has to wear the combobulator for a week until he assimilates.
  10. Probably China, like everything else.
  11. Their big, expensive conventional reels are made in Philly.
  12. 8/10 - two bonus points for the hair.
  13. Penn has become Pure Fishing's saltwater brand. While some of the tackle crosses over, they're more synonymous with big game angling.
  14. I'd say that and a picture of the fish would be plenty.

  16. Welcome aboard!
  17. Nah, that is perfection!
  18. Bill Murphy teaches that experience leads us to spots where big fish should be, and it may takes days to wait them out for a bite. Unfortunately, not many of us have that kind of time. I like to have a milk run, and test a few new spots that have features similar to my good milk run spots. This way, my milk run is constantly evolving as I fish.
  19. No.
  20. You mean that tri-hull all the way in the back of Hell's Cove?
  21. SMASH that like button!!!!
  22. I'm the opposite, if it's gonna snow, I want devastation. Like shut the everything down blizzard. I've got everything I need to ride it out. I love a little adventure.
  23. Uhh, no.
