  1. There really isn't any. I'm just teasing that I can catch as many as anyone with a spincaster.
  2. You have a lot of judgement for someone with thin skin.
  3. Yep, built my ramp from this.
  4. Again, I'd look for a slightly used boat. $26 - 30k is a ton of money for not much boat. If you check out my thread below, you can see what I'm looking at. These boats do not appear to be even close to 1/5 of what I'm getting. BTW, a similar boat to that Alumacraft - actually a 17' tiller - was $6k 20 years ago. Boat prices are absurd.
  5. It's just my opinion. I would not settle for it. It's not for me. What you decide to do with your money is your business.
  6. That's my recollection as well. I'll smoke any challengers with this reel:
  7. I'd look for a used Lund. It's moot though, since my next boat will be a much larger bay boat. Have it inspected by an independent mechanic. You can also get a warranty from a dealer.
  8. Maybe for some cheapo plastic Snoopy reels. The Daiwa GC20 I have works and feels like hi quality machine. I have a Zebco 33 Classic that is well past 30 years old and works perfectly. Neither display any of the issues bought up here about spincast.
  9. No, you want a dedicated pair of linesman pliers. They go right through even heavy worm hooks.
  10. Yep almost all of my biggest bass came at mid day. Go get 'em @BrianMDTX!!!
  11. I already own a few spincast reels. They're mostly for guests.
  12. I'd buy a much nicer tin boat for $30 if that was my budget.
  13. Spincast have a much lower IPT than many spinning reels.
  14. Nice. Any idea when the term "BFS" was being marketed?
  15. Why? Anyway, a Nitro Z17 will run you $30,995 before tax and prep. Stratos might have some remaining inventory for less. I wouldn't settle for any of them.
  16. This isn't my go to method, but works really well when others don't: https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/dropshot-bedding-bass.html
  17. I don't have any recollection of that line, but it sounds pretty cool. I'd guess it was around 1984-5 I got into casting gear. I'd started on spincast, then spinning, and then learned baitcast reels. I'm not surprised I didn't know about it. The shop I dealt with was primarily a Daiwa dealer.
  18. We might hit 80 today. So much for spring.
  19. No, it is definitely necessarily bass. You must realize what site you're on, what the focus may be. It's perfectly fine to talk about salt fishing, but don't assume anyone's response to account for your specific situation unless you post in the Other Species category. Glad for that.
  20. Hobie has bigger fin options.
  21. This is awful. So sorry for your loss.
  22. Up here there are shorelines where you'd be in 30+ FOW just 20' from shore. It was around 12' deep off the end of our dock with a steady drop further out to 25', and I'd throw deep divers all day long. It might not be like that everywhere, but it isn't impossible either. Something to think about, and maybe check the depth maps where you're fishing.
