  1. Fresh means within 5 miles of the ocean. You aren't getting fresh in Kansas.
  2. I'm not sure what the performance means in the context of a reel. I mean it holds line, pays it out, reels it in. It's not pulling 1g on a skid pad.
  3. I didn't get it from oysters. I was working at a tropical fish importer and got some infected tank water in my mouth. I still eat oysters where they're fresh.
  4. So it dissolves in water. Doesn't sound ideal.
  5. I'm m willing to die on that hill for it. Standards man! And I know Catt will find this and give another history lesson.
  6. Gear ratio has zero to do with perceived smoothness. It could be a lot of things, but I'd start with a deep clean and rune from someone like DVT Mike.
  7. I've had vibrio, it sucks.
  8. I put the scent on the bait right before I fish it. No issues with softening or swelling.
  9. These are nice. They can also be used to make Jika rigs.
  10. Nope, no point in it. Mike Siebert makes them perfectly. Buy quality baits, and trimming isn't necessary.
  11. Nope. I fish baits straight from the package with no mods. I don't have time to fuss.
  12. Senkos are the sinkiest of the sinky baits.
  13. He's referencing two different drive systems: Mirage 180 and 360 are totally different.
  14. The right weeds for me there are milfoil near deeper ledges.
  15. 132 lbs. without any of your gear. You've gone full opposite from the start. You should get some seat time in some boats. That will tell you more about what you like than we can.
  16. You gotta be where they're harvested. So good though when fresh, same for a lot of other raw seafood.
  17. Get a cart. There is literally zero reason to drag your boat. All boats get scratched from launching, but dragging them around without a cart isn't too great an idea - root molded or thermoformed.
  18. I have the VTS610MLXF and I like it a lot. I've used it mostly for senkos though. I paired it with an OG Stradic CI4 2500 adn 6# Tatsu.

  20. Everybody says that about every thermoformed kayak, yet there literally tens of thousands of them in use.
  21. This is gold. I've heard so many times of teams dumping a small bag only to find out they could have placed in the money.
  22. I've played in a ton of pit orchestras. I was a drummer for hire for high school musicals. That's fun, but going to see them isn't really my thing.
  23. I've won a few evening tournaments with just three big fish. Been beat by a small bag of big fish as well.
  24. That technique has been around a long time. It works really well on super tough days, rarely consistent. Problem is you're gambling on not missing the window when big fish are biting. Consistent tournament winners catch bigger fish on average than the rest of the field. My experience in kayak tournaments is that you need to be striving for 100" to win.
