  1. Well crap. I'm sorry man.
  2. Curious, what mono are you using on the top water rig?
  3. Pretty sure the Planos mostly float when they're sealed closed. Not sure about my terminal box, though I doubt any would float with weight of it.
  4. Now that we have that documentation, we can move on. XCalibur we're also Pradco, but their higher end line meant to compete with the likes of Spro or Lucky Craft. Some of the more popular baits are now in the Boo-Yah catalog. BTW, those Bill Dance topwaters are still killer for smallies. I still have two I take on every outing.
  5. Excalibur were Pradco, which includes Heddon, Bomber, Bandit, Rebel, YUM, Boo-yah, and many others.
  6. Well, seems I have my hair AND my legs. Let us not forget my good looks too.
  7. Born in '72 thought he was doing a leg day two days ago, but it turned into all tricep and lat soreness until this morning. I guess all the pumping on a skateboard in bowls and pools has put me in a place where I need to up the deal when it comes to leg day.
  8. He'll snap back. I was DQ'd from a club TX once when everyone's license expired the day before the event. I was not alone. It was convenient for the TX director because he won after the DQs lol.
  9. Excalibur or Xcalibur? They two different things entirely.
  10. It actually slows color fade on braid too.
  11. Get some KVD L&L. Seriously.
  12. Was the question rhetorical then? You have a rationale. I think you already know. It works for you. Thank you for that insight. Search bait is a loaded term. They're all search baits when it comes down to it. We do what we know when we don't know what to do. I think that's pretty cool, and sharing it here makes sense. It's a big help.
  13. Lucky Craft Pointer SP 100 in Aurora black is always my starting point. At $16, it's a good middle of the road price point.
  14. I'll bite. I use the graph to find fish and or structure. "Search baits" are used to find the active fish or establish a pattern, hopefully. Blindly casting can work in a pond or working from a limited area of shoreline, but if you can other tools to narrow things down in a boat, all the better.
  15. I don't ever recall using two hands on a freshwater fish - including huge carp and king salmon - while it was pulling drag. Saltwater, yes that's another story, but that's a completely different deal. We're talking black bass. Maybe it's because I go to the gym?
  16. Stump fields are just screaming for a square bill or lipless bait, especially in spring. Fished with a medium power fast graphite rod (not the typical slow, mod, or glass blank), you can avoid snags because of the faster input you get. It's my plan to start with something that covers the area quickly, then pick it apart with something slower, if need be.
  17. There were several Daiwa models that not only had a flipping switch but also a switch the disengaged the the dog and bone AR mechanism. These were low profile reels. The feature slowly disappeared as the 90s rolled on. It actually kind of nice if you were drifting natural baits for other species than bass.
  18. This could interesting to see the final product.
  19. Straight [any line] people unite!!!! Down with leaders!!!
  20. I like the pen case on that. Looks good.
  21. Warranty implies defect. Replacement policy is a little more clear. My Maui Jim's can be replaced any time for $75, no questions asked.
  22. I hit myself in the thigh once. Once.
  23. All it does is add wear and tear on the drag. The system literally protects from wear on the gears
  24. Almost parallel to the stone. There's got to be a video out there on this. I learned from an article in In-Fisherman like 40 years ago.
