  1. How long are they? Looks to be more than 30' but it's hard to tell.
  2. Put that tea cup in that cover @Catt
  3. Happy Birthday! it was mine back on the 22nd. I'm officially in my 50s now. I feel like kid after the horrible 45 mins after I wake up. You have around 5 more years before everything stops working and you feel truly broken. Keep fit man. I still skate pools and half pipes. Started bombing hills a few years ago as well. Stay young by acting young, but use your wisdom to back out of things you can't do. Sounds contradictory, but don't stop doing, just do it smarter.
  4. The fastest I had my Bullet up to was 84.7 on GPS. I used a much higher pitch (31" 3-blade) than my usual Trophy 4-bade 27. The higher pitch was hell to get up on plane but there was more than I was capable left, even at 85 mph. My usual setup ran about 71-73, but got up on plane in about 2 seconds at 16-17 mph. A much better deal for usual fishing. I love the "run all day" comments. My boat burned around 40 GPH at WOT. It had a 25 gal. fuel cell. You do the math. I'm sure there are faster boats (I see them on YouTube all the time), but mostly I see bigger boats running 60 MPH in water I would not ever go out in. The Great Lakes dictate when and how fast you can go, regardless of capability.
  5. Fat short fish with small mouths are usually younger fish that were well fed. It's possible the fish you are catching aren't that old. Mouth size is a somewhat reliable indicator.
  6. There are a couple lakes where you have to fish prespawn if you want any size. I don't know anyone that knows where they go in summer. The rest of the year it is a dink fest, and those dinks are very aggressive.
  7. Moving baits can get slammed. Having an a angle offers all the insurance the bend of the rod can provide. 45-60* is plenty.
  8. I'm not sure if I'd ever fish anywhere other than Champ if I were that close.
  9. Your recovery time for back in shape is pretty good for your age. I know when I have an injury that prevents certain exercises, it takes at least a month and I'm in my 50s (I consider this "young" lol). I'm nursing a broken hand right now. I can pull anything, just can't push with my right hand. That right tri and bi are gonna be put to the test in a month. In the meantime every day is leg day.
  10. I have 6 or 7 ML spinning rigs and all but one have 6# Tatsu on them now. Previously, I used Invisx with hood results as well. The single outlier has 20# braid and whatever size Gold Label leader I deem appropriate, if at all. Sometimes direct to braid is the way.
  11. I use a 6'3" MLXF or MXF rod depending on the weight. You don't need added length for a vertical presentation. Straight 6# Tatsu. Owner Mosquito hook tied with a Palomar and tag run back through. Weights start at 1/2 oz. and may go up to 1 oz. I do not want my rig to move out of the place I put it. I could care less if the weight is tungsten or lead - makes no difference. The swivel in the weight is more important to me and needs to be quality. Baits are 3-4" plastics. My favorites are Crosstail Shad and Roboworm Straight Tail. They are both "do nothing" baits. Your results may not reflect those depicted.
  12. Keen Newport H2 sandals.
  13. Yeah but over 23,000 were liked, lol.
  14. Since when does legality have anything to do with a TD's discretion about an unfair advantage. I mean, who cares at this point? It isn't gonna change the results and Kieth got all the free press he could ever want out of the stunt. (this is for two posts above)
  15. A Texas Rig is 100% more effective than a Carolina Rig for me. Also, I don't throw C-Rigs.
  16. I think he played the game perfectly. There's five pages of free press here, and goodness knows how many views on his socials. Some sponsors would be happy with that.
  17. I would just replace it with an auto bilge pump. Keep the old pump as a back up. Just put two alligator clips on the wires and keep it in dry storage in case of a pump failure.
  18. Auto bilge pumps are an option. All but one fishing boat I've had lacked them. Not sure why you'd leave the plug in, always take it out when pulling out. They're not a difficult install should you want one.
  19. 1. Where the water is wet. 2. Yes. Honestly, I haven't been overwhelmed by this bait. Caught a few. Bring a popper and try that when the plopper isn't producing.
  20. Next time there will be a "Keith Poche" rule in effect. He can hang his hat on that. I think it's kind of funny how everyone gets their panties in a bunch over stuff like this. It's all good and free advertising for his sponsors.
  21. I skewer real senkos when I wacky rig cos I'm a baller.
