  1. Get a Leverage Landing Net.
  2. Seek professional help at that point.
  3. It detected, or felt both, and reacted. It didn't think, that dude touched me, I have to swim away. They aren't like, that hook hurts, swim away. It's far more basic resonse than that. It's a foreign sensory input their brain and nervous system reacted to. If they couldn't feel the hook, they wouldn't react, and therefore there would be no fight.
  4. Hasn't caused a problem in 20 years. It's a small amount of salt. We in fact use it in freshwater aquariums all the time as well. Please release me is an excellent product that I've used for years for keeping fish for tournament weight in. There's probably a small amount of salt (electrolyte) in the Sure Life product. What I suggested is called a salt dip. Two different things.
  5. I'll do you one further, if you accidentally scuff one up really good, you can put a cup of Kosher salt in your livewell, set it to recirc, and let it stay there for 10 minutes, then let them go. Cull tags help with gentle removal. The Kosher salt in that percentage is safe for the fish, and will stimulate slime coat production, and ward off parasites.
  6. In years past, it's bee a Popmax in white python. This year, it's back to a Rage Craw in Bama Craw on various Texas Rigs.

  8. They are constantly producing slime coat, so I'm not even too worried about that.
  9. It isn't invasive if they exist and are not the top game fish in the lake.
  10. I didn't mount one, but have used a portable to grill up burgers or dogs for lunch. Be prepared for other boats with hungry anglers to surround you, lol.
  11. Perfect. Keep them off your fish! Let them have their Waldos.
  12. That time I talked smack all winter and spring about winning the North Country Roundup Big Bass Tournament on Upper Saranac Lake....and came through with a win, lol.
  13. That's about the same depth here. We sometimes use a push pole to get into the bigger fields.
  14. Tens of thousands of trout are stocked in the trib near my house. Just preceding this stocking, thousands, and I mean thousands of northerns of all sizes come up the creek, and wait in the flats for them. It's actually a pretty amazing phenomenon. I paddle up there, and have 30-40 northern pike days with a beat up BB-Z Junior, lol.
  15. I bet even more survive being eaten due to the bigger dispersal range as well.
  16. "Hurt" and "injured" are two different things. Fish don't feel hurt, but they react to trauma, as in, get me back in the water. They could be injured, but a short drop isn't likely to do much to a healthy fish. A cut could get an infection or worse, parasite or fungus infect the wound, but again, a healthy fish, promptly returned to the water has a higher chance of survival.
  17. Could be water reed. I'd fish it the same. We have that around here too.
  18. That stuff is called water willow, and it's all over Oneida Lake, and it's pretty fun way to fish. We use frogs and blind cast into there, and hope to feel the weight of the fish when we hear the strike. The other way is a heavy pegged bullet and something slender like a fluke or Pit Boss, and pitch at the moving stalks.
  19. It shows. The past year and a half, I've seen both a personality and editing style emerge. Mixing dramatic, joyful catches with informational, didactic content. Hats off indeed.
  20. I like it quite a bit. It reminds me of how an Daiwa Alphas feels in my hands, size wise. As far as performance, it just work like any other reel should.
  21. Tuf-Line Supercaster is half of what you want. It floats. There's no sinking model. Best topwater line I've ever used.
  22. That's the real name. Thanks!
  23. That thing could eat your dog!
  24. Senko wreckers in spring. Seems like most disappear into the depths when the waters warm.
