  1. Very unique.
  2. Well, it's one louder, right?
  3. Here's a back of the boat trick for that: grab your spinning DS setup. Toss it slightly in front of where the boat is heading, but on the deep side, to not interfere with the shallow machine gunner. Leave the bail open. Let line peel out to where you be a little longer than a decent cast. Close the bail, and give it rip. You'd be surprised how many fish I've picked up from the back of the boat in that situation.
  4. It's not a terrible plan, if they're on the feed. Otherwise you're hauling water and catching pickerel.
  5. I would assume clockwise turns them up, but you should see the magnet ring go up or down, with the palm side plate off. What every action raises the magnet ring is turning up the brakes.
  6. If your graph lights up with bait fish in that 20ish range, send a DS down in there, or a blade bate, or a jigging spoon. You might unlock that smallie bite.
  7. Make long casts and fish a bit deeper than you're used to.
  8. Yuuup!
  9. Look for healthy, deeper weeds. It might be a little weird with all the rain we got, so check that mid lake point with the creek running in. Not sure how much rain they got south of the ROC.
  10. Get used to standing and pitching. Learn to do a flip cast as well. These are useful when you drift past something close you missed. I've caught fish right under or next to the kayak this way. I think being close to the water and the action is an advantage. It feels more connected. There are so many other things that can spook fish, I don't think ripples bother them one bit. I use rods from 6-8 to 8' for pitching, and I also pitch with a spinning reel if needed. It's juts a casting technique for getting a bait to a spot quickly with little hassle. Get good at it and you'll be rewarded. Good luck.
  11. We're done here. You're all acting like children, and contributing nothing to the OP's questions. Time to take a step back, it's FISHING. Geez.
  12. I buy used here on the Flea Market all the time. Latest purchase was a JDM Zillion that picks up 41" per turn.
  13. Same reason I don't prefer Flooger or Abu. Form factor does not suit my hands, and I find the cranking side to be heavier and off balance compared to other brands. It's my opinion, and nothing to do with being a fan boy.

  15. They're $5 for a pack. How about trying them out and reporting back?
  16. Owner ST-36 or VMC Vanadium Inline.
  17. Probably a good plan. This is the most trafficked bass fishing forum in the world. We peak at over a thousand users online every evening. For every person that posts, ten fold are reading. You can use the report a post link to alert mods to things you think are an issue. Taking it into your own hands is forbidden. All of your concerns are addressed here: https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/guidelines/ Thanks.
  18. Not many fish can "tilt" their head. Most don't have a neck.
  19. I don't like glass because of the weight, the size, and it feels like fishing with a wet noodle. I have a Pinnacle DHC5 7-11 graphite if I want to really launch lures, but it's a bit of a pain at that length to transport. I have to go through the doorway carefully, load it in the truck or kayak hull, it even has a special rod sleeve. Never mind it has micro guides, which I'm also not fond of. It's really a novelty to me, not like my 8' swimbait rods that I have no issue making accommodations for since they are so useful to me. They aren't one trick ponies like the big cranking stick.
  20. What I think is awesome is not using a leader at all, and going straight fluoro.
  21. If you don't want the length, I have both Okuma EVX Cranking sticks, and the MH would suit you well. They a perfect moderate taper for cranks, and since they're graphite they're light and sensitive.
  22. They flat out do not work when the water is hard, as in frozen.
  23. Deep diving cranks always work for me, so long as the water is soft.
  24. Hmm... 150 - 250 posts per day is slow? At any rate, it's poor form to make comments about worthiness of others' advice or posts. It only starts unnecessary arguments. At any rate, I use chatterbaits in place of spinnerbaits, when the weed cover is sparse in spring. Once the weeds come up, a spinnerbait gets through the weeds and outperforms a chatterbait.
  25. That's pretty cool.
