  1. Doesn't seem right. The last pic looks normal.
  2. Hand made, tested, and tuned baits command a higher price than production line baits.
  3. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/guidelines/ I have a dispute with 'company X'. Can I post about it here? While we can empathize with your frustration, the best course of action is deal directly with the company. Escalate it up the ladder, file a grievance with PayPal or Ebay (if they were involved with the transaction). File a mail fraud complaint with the post office. There are other options, but attacking the company in a public forum is not appropriate nor allowed. Such posts will be removed.
  4. It's probably not hurting a bass, but it's definitely not helping. I mean, look at all the pros that drop them in the water without a second thought! With Esox, it's a different, more serious story. They build up lactic acid to the point of paralysis.
  5. Let's end this myth, and practice once and for all. Some dude with a FB account does not a study make. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/223207-bleeding-fish/?tab=comments#comment-2520588 Search this on google, as it's also considered harmful. Just hold the fish in the water, letting it breathe as normal until you feel it regain buoyancy and "stiffen up" it's muscles. Moving it can actually prevent normal breathing, and not allow the lactic acid in the muscles shed via the blood stream. Been doing this for over a decade with very good results.
  6. I hope I’m remembered for more than a fish. Anyway, let’s get back on topic - if there’s anything left to discuss here…
  7. No one pays that much for a Hinkle. 1/3 that is high.
  8. Keep it around. There's 1001 uses for it around the house. Last time I used spare line, I hung a picture frame.
  9. Know your Seinfeld.
  10. Do you mean invasive mute swans?
  11. War and Peace. The working title of this book was originally, War, What is it Good For?
  12. None of this thread references natural phenomena. I'm lost.
  13. There's always a bit of a bend to accommodate for the prop torque. The skeg is sacrificial and there to protect the prop, however, and shouldn't affect steering performance at all. If you're dissatisfied with the work, take it back to shop that did the work.
  14. What's the question? I got my money's worth (and still planning on getting more) with an OG HPH that is similar to the Bull Shad, but cost me $75. I have a few Baby Bull Shads I'm looking forward to trying out this year.
  15. In a catch and kill by law lake.
  16. Both are NY fish. I don't keep track of the out of state PBs, since an 8 lb. from Florida is hardly a trophy. 7-2 LMB: Texas rigged 10" Black Powerworm, 1/2 oz. bullet weight and 5/0 worm hook in 30-ish FOW 5-12 SMB: Drop shot Ayu Cross Tail Shad (flat side up), 3/4 weight and #4 drop shot hook in 40-ish FOW Interesting 2nd place counter point: 7.1 LMB: Junebug 4" Flick Shake Worm on 3/16 Zappu Wacky jig in less than 1 FOW
  17. I agree with this statement, but have to pose the counterpoint: why are the huge bass records so old? Some go back (including the WR) more than half a century. </smoke bomb>
  18. Two things I can think of. I catch smallies in current using my centrepin rigs. They are 11-15' long, and work well for the same reasons you cite. Back when we soaked softshells, leeches, or crawlers on split shot rigs for smallies, an 8'+ slow action rod was preferred. You could lob the live bait rig pretty far, without whipping the bait into the stratosphere, and the rod acted like a big shock absorber, keeping the tiny hooks pinned.
  19. There you go - that's how you sell it when you see someone doing what you think is wrong. That's a good angle for doing better than what the law allows, without coming off as preaching. They are one person, that's one trophy. What of others could catch that fish, and feel the same joy. The world needs more of that.
  20. I don’t know, but RLRRLRLL.
  21. Sounds like the boat didn't meet USCG flotation requirements either. It's a shame, and sad for the families. This is why we have certain regulations in place. It's for times when common sense becomes uncommon. So sad for their families.
  22. I have a replica of @A-Jay in my fish room.
  23. Accuracy in the color has nothing to do with whether it's skin mount or replica. Both are painted.
