  1. This is a good point, @lavbasser. There are certain brands of baits - not inexpensive ones, either - where action is inconsistent from bait to bait. I find this hapopens most with suspending jerkbaits. I love the X-Raps I currently have, but it took 3-6 baits per keeper to get there. I've also had some actually explode or deform in the box, shortly after purchase. This happened with Koppers Crawfish cranks. I bought 4 of every color, and all but one color either imploded, exploded, or deformed within the first month. Some in package itself, and all this in the first month. BPS took them back for a full refund. I still have and use the one color that wasn't defective, but that was an expensive error, and I don't buy baits from them anymore. Some might think I'm a LC snob, or a Ragetail fan bow, or I just like expensive baits with Japanese writing on them (Jackall, Megabass), but really, they come out of the box and work the same, correct way every time. I trust them, can buy a bunch at a time, and not have to water test them.

  3. The fluke was an evolution of the Slug-go, and is a staple bait among many. The Slug-go is still available, and made by Lunker City.
  4. Read this first:
  5. I look at buying a 20+ year old boat as if I'm buying the outboard. I'm also investing in a host of potential problems with the hull. I would want an on the water test drive, and would check every single switch, compartment hinge, and have a pro check the motor and hull. I bought a '95 Bullet with an '03 225, and it served me well for years. Any issues, and it's a very expensive fix.
  6. I almost never use a T-rig any deeper than 10-12'. I wouldn't say I chose one over the other. It's more like whatever I feel like throwing, and what gets bit if I tried a few things. I will say, any deeper than 20', and I don't typically throw any of these. Mostly a drop shot at that point, maybe a jigging spoon or ultra deep cranks.
  7. Skirted football jigs is definitely a thing for smallmouth up here.
  8. It was 12° this morning. Gonna be in the 60s by the weekend.
  9. The thread is getting out of hand. Please refer to official sites. Bickering on a fishing site isn't very productive.
  10. I picked up 90 days worth of insulin. I’m set. I need that more than TP.
  11. That… and a few more things
  12. Most people will be fine. Staying put, and minimizing contact may save the life of someone at risk. FL has 31 cases. MN has 10. I'm in NY, we have 325. Glenn is in WA, with 457. You can check your states numbers and get a ton of info over here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-in-us.html The site has been getting updates every afternoon.
  13. Toilet paper is apparently the last thing anyone wants to run out of in case of lengthy quarantine.
  14. Sub $2 gas! Fill up the boat.
  15. If you get an answer, you got bigger problems than COVID-19.
  16. I've been using Invisx for years. In the past few, I've switched to Tatsu. I'm also using Seaguar Finesse. It's very close to Tatsu.
  17. The only difference is the open container laws are not the same for boats.
  18. TP, bottled water, canned goods, pasta, rice, hand sanitizer, and various surface cleaners are in short supply. Facebook is not in short supply of pictures depicting empty shelves with stupid captions.
  19. I think the mortality rate will go down with more testing results, because certainly there are many undetected cases. I do not think that it will drop below the flu. Unless we are speaking about ourselves, and our own health, or someone close to us, I'm not sure where age fits. Can I even say "okay boomer" when grandma gets a cold? Like I said before, no reason to panic, but no reason to be foolish either. Ever run out?
  20. Seaguar Blue Label
  21. Overall, I've read it's much lower, like .05 to .06%. Whatever was reported a few days ago in raw numbers makes this more than 80 times as fatal as the flu. Seems simple enough to cancel things that could promote the spread of it. I don't see that as panic or knee-jerk. Seems smart. Bummer about your Knicks tickets, but.... I feel bad for all those that work in industries that will be deeply affected. There will be closures and layoffs.
  22. Organizing your tackle goes way further than some list of what you have. I opened my terminal tackle box, and visually, I could see I needed 4/0 worm hooks and some flipping weights. Pretty simple.
  23. Seems like it is easy enough to just ask the attendant before launching.
  24. So, probably a good idea to take action earlier, to prevent a similar outcome.
