  1. I use a shorter rod for baits that need a downward twitch. I also prefer a shorter rod for vertical presentations, since you gain nothing with length. Otherwise, I'm 5-7 and most of my rods are at least 7', if not closer to 8'. I could be 4' tall, and fish with the same rods. I might need a bit shorter rod for the downward twitch presentation, though.
  2. Get a fish grip. They work for pike and pickerel too. https://www.thefishgrip.net/
  3. I would agree, all of the potential success depends on the boater getting on fish.
  4. It's pretty clear that it was NOT attached to him.
  5. Bow/stern lines
  6. I drive pretty fast, and I operate in rough water. This guy has a death wish. Jeez.
  7. I wear Maui Jim offshore. I had a nice set of Costa 580, but they're at the bottom Erie. FOr years after that, I bought a cheap pair of polarized glasses off the rack, and they worked fine. The coatings don't last on cheap sunglasses, but polarization is the same. My Maui Jim are three years old now, and I wear them every day.
  8. Not a warmouth, it's a rock bass. Warmouth only have three spines on their anal fin.
  9. One of my tin tillers was named "Whatever". Good screen name!
  10. Still better looking than you.
  11. He doesn't look like me at all.
  12. It's way easier to get video of a sleeping bass angler. Are we certain that ALL lmb get the redness in cold water? My days in early spring have so few catches, I can't clearly remember anything other seeing it, but couldn't say if it was all of them. Could be a hormonal thing leading to spawn? All the smallies pics I have do not have this at all, and some were from REALLY cold water.
  13. Someone that signed up here to learn how to fish. There are all sorts that don't know what to do. That is where this forum fits in. But, okay. Go Cowboys.
  14. Your Name Here sell the rights to it
  15. I have a little RAM X-mount for my phone, and that's fine for me. I'm not really taking video to entertain anyone. Little snips for social media of various things are all I'm interested in filming. It's hard enough editing a 60 second part for Insta.
  16. I don't think I own any swim jigs anymore. I might have some somewhere, but they aren't in my jig box. I will often (some days, very often) swim the jig I am using. I like a high action trailer for this, like a Rage Chunk or Rage Craw. Football jigs are really nice for this. When they hit a rock or other hard bottom cover, they kick up and that seems to appeal to bass.
  17. I always thought this was more about light lines. I don't think I'd lift any fish out on 6# line. Even though I don't use exactly the same technique, releasing the tension from the rod is an important step.
  18. Chatillon. Pricey, but reliable and accurate.
  19. That smell isn't my fault though.
  20. It was 73* F yesterday afternoon.
  21. I'm going with "White Album" so I don't have to put the name on the boat.
