  1. Honest answer: line counter. They're handy.
  2. Actually, mostly ultra light spinning was his deal. Dude caught sturgeons on UL gear.
  3. The old Dobyns Champion Extreme full rear grip was the best ever. For spinning, I love the OG Avid grip.
  4. Glad to hear it!
  5. Choosey moms choose Jif. Anything else is the wrong answer. Crunchy gets caught in the smaller guides.
  6. I first came across Kent back on NYBass and eventually made it over to here. I can think of all the phone calls, PMs, and posts up here, and remember what a kind person he is. If it weren't for him, I'd have never ended up here. So, my question now is for Glenn: Who is going to ban the site sponsors now? LOLOLOL, I will never let him live that down. In all actuality, this was one of Kent's innate skills. Most members will never know just how much spam crapola they were NOT subjected to because Kent already nailed them. HE was a sharpshooter in that department. It used to irritate me when I'd see some spam, and go to get rid of it, only to find out he got to it first.
  7. Unless the guide is made from peanut butter, the differences are hardly detectable. The main gains in sensitivity have always been the in the blank construction.
  8. Sounds more like a vocation **This doesn't make much sense since the post was above removed, lol**
  9. Collecting vinyl and CDs Drums Lego Photography Skateboarding
  10. The recent catches in Cayuga (both LMB and SMB records) tell me that it is possible one is swimming around in Michigan waters. We've had some fairly warm winters for a decade or more and there's plenty of forage as well as ideal water conditions. I hope @A-Jay catches it.
  11. That's a great price for a Al prop repair. Might be worth it at that rate. I've always run SS for anything over 50 hp. I'm running a Al prop on my merc Big Foot 50, but it's on a toon, and I'm fine with the 20 mph I'm getting at WOT. If I dinged my prop, I'd be looking into the shop above for sure.

    Glue

    They're pretty much the same.
  13. Does bug spray or SSS keep them away?
  14. If your cousin doesn't get you, the sea herpes will!
  15. AKA, crabs. 🦀 😂
  16. Those look pretty good. My gripe with cheap cutters of all types is blade diversion. So many crummy cutters that just give up and the blades flop over with the material stuck between like pork grizzle in between your teeth. You have to spend $30 or more on anything for cutting anything anymore.
  17. Unless he's missing them. In that case, have a good follow up bait ready, like a senko. I've poached more than a few bass that way, lol.
  18. I've always just used a pair of lineman's pliers for cutting hooks. I have 3-4 pairs of bolt cutters for various size jobs, but can't think of any time I'd ever need them for fishing.
  19. Popmax, Avid AVC62MXF, Daiwa Alphas Type F, Tufline Supercast, usually a walking retrieve. As long as your line doesn't sink, none of the rest of the gear matters, so long as it's reasonable within casting and catching parameters.
  20. I ran NMBs in my skateboards in the 80s, lol. They were way better than NHBB (New Hampshire Ball Bearing) or the GMBs (German). I haven't heard that name in decades - it's cool they are still around. As for your reel, the advice to locate the bad bearing is good, plus the good bearings will perform in top shape, once cleaned. I've played around with all sorts of fancy bearings, and whatever high grade SS bearings are being sold seem to work out to be the smoothest and most durable, if maintained.
  21. I like Lucky Craft MS American Shad, or whatever other companies call their version, in all water clarity and color. It has just about every color in the spectrum, looks natural, is highly reflective, and simply does well for me. It's what I'd call a "safe bet" color.
  22. I don't if there's some weird etiquette you should follow, but if I was tearing them up and you weren't, I'd be begging you to do what I was doing.
  23. I came to post some of my experience, and found that Dwight nailed what I'd have said, and then there's an awesome report back. Congrats, looks like a good time.
