  1. So long ago, from before kayak fishing was cool.
  2. They did, it's called the Super Spook. For the old style spooks, I always add a split ring and a VMC Vanadium Inline hook.
  3. Ummmm, always be nice to her.
  4. Santee-Cooper 8+ caught from the back of my boat on a Tiny Torpedo. This guy George even had a special rod he used only for the little lures - a 7-6 Ugly Stik.
  5. The first time I fished this particular lake, I only had an hour or so. I caught at least 6 fish, none under 4 and the top 2 were 6-0 and 6-8. You can bet I've gone back many times to try and duplicate that success. Beginner's luck, I guess.
  6. Good luck, man. Chiros are a little weird. Take a good long walk after wards. It helps settle things down. I always walk after an adjustment.
  7. I'm bringing roadwarrior and T-Pain as my partners.
  8. How much I cut off wouldn't matter one bit, it's never touched while fishing. It only changes the balance. There would be no change in power or action from my perspective, if you cut off any amount behind the reel seat. Data is my job, and it means nothing if you don't consider the use case. The system you're referring to is objective, uniform, and reliably consistent when repeated but doesn't consider the use case presented.
  9. I could cut the butt end off most of my spinning rods right behind the reel seat, and it wouldn't change power or speed. The balance would probably be terrible though.
  10. That's a cannot fail purchase. I like that crank color. Those baby bass senkos are pretty good, and always work.
  11. Back pain stinks. I have a bit of lower back pain, but the killer is up in my neck. It doesn't actually hurt up there, but if I tweak it, my hands go numb and there's pain in my upper arms. Usually takes a couple visits to the chiro to fix it all.
  12. The new boat has been an epic journey. I'm actually glad we didn't pull the trigger yet. The new house was a spur of the moment thing, though we've been shopping on an off for three years. I think the boat comes next year. I miss having a powerboat, though the plastic fleet is always ready for action. Every time the topic of a boat comes up, she says go bigger. At this point I may be truck shopping too. Rocinante may not be up to towing a 27' bay boat. Thanks.
  13. It's all good And thanks. We can't wait! The new place is literally just up the street, but has a few more rooms, a two car garage, deck, and pool.
  14. Let's try to keep this for photos, and leave the memes here: Took a little bit work on the weekend, and three days of showing, but this house is someone else's next month. Moving on up!
  15. It's called humor. It wouldn't be funny if I didn't take the quote out of context.
  16. High and fast just sounds like charin' or grill in' to me. I like grill in' too.
  17. Maybe I'm wrong (I'm a Yankee) but barbecue has usually meant low heat with natural fire. Basically roasting or smoking using natural heat. I'm a big fan of the charcoal snake and smoke chips in my old Weber grill. Bone in pork shoulder, top round, beer can chicken, and ribs are all favorites. My favorite is Carolina pulled pork with cole slaw and pickles.
  18. The Ragetail guys: Jared N, JVD, Denny Brauer, to name a few I can remember. I think Big O signed it as well. Just came across it packing my fishing gear, and you can sort of make some out.
  19. Two words: punch cards. I'm that old.
  20. That meme is funny. I saved it to the cloud for later.
