  1. There's nothing different about the construction. Reels are different story. Just make sure you match the gear with the species you're chasing.
  2. It's stealing, and illegal activity or just promoting it is forbidden here. We're done. https://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/
  3. Or use another reel with the same capacity.
  4. That'll hold a couple arm lengths Just kidding. I have a spool with similar capacity. It made laugh a little considering that the spool lip is about what I leave showing on normal, higher capacity spools. Nice example!
  5. Yes, I landed this on bolts and rolled away.
  6. Fluorocarbon doesn't have hardly any memory at all, which is the issue with manageability. Some fluorocarbon lines are more limp, and easier to manage. Line conditioner helps prevent it from uncoiling from the spool. Spool size only changes the size of the coils if memory is there.
  7. Put some thread lock blue on the threads and be done with it.
  8. It really depends on where I'm going to fish. Some days, there's a pile up, other days it's just one. One thing is for sure, if there's a hot bite on a certain bait, I'll have as many of those rigged and on deck ready, rather than retie. If I'm fishing a top water, I'll probably a fluke and or a senko ready. I often punch with three different baits too - a heavy jika, a jig, and a pegged Texas rig. The point is it's never a set list. I don't fish a ton of different baits, but I don't like being pigeon holed either.
  9. Toothpicks or rubber T-pegs work for me.
  10. I recommend sending them to Mike at DVT. I used to run my own reel cleaning business, did around 250-300 reels per year. If I didn't know how to do it myself, I'd send them to Mike. Side note, I see this recommended quite a bit, and from some highly regarded "experts" to install spring washers like this: )(. I've NEVER seen a reel come from the factory this way. It's always like this: (). It probably makes no difference, but if you take the reel apart, take note of how they're installed.
  11. I'd cut that rod list to two, and look at two of the RAM rod holders that tilt.
  12. Peach filled mountain pies.
  13. Oh, hail no!
  14. Exactly. You're always going to have some twist, it's the nature of spinning reels. The video shows how to resolve that issue. Memory is a double edged sword. Without a little bit of it, line just flies off the spool. Too much and it hinders casting.
  15. I just insert a toothpick through the bait at the hook bend and snot the ends off. Worked great and no messy glue to deal with.
  16. Double check what line to use. I know we were fishing with 2# line for smallies and waldos. I think it was Maxima. Whatever it was, it was one of the accepted brands. Also, seems like it took almost a year to certify his record.
  17. You're on your own w/ JDM. Some of the manuals have English, but you're only referencing pictures. Part numbers are different for USDM/JDM, but you can usually find the same part and order from Daiwa USA. Last time I talked to them, Toby at Daiwa was pretty helpful.
  18. I hope you get good at fishing anchors off the bottom.
  19. Line classes are where it's at. My buddy holds a few and I've been out with him chasing one of them.
  20. Pretty sure mine is a cheap BPS house brand counter. It's got to be at least 20 years old.
  21. They are delicious.
