  1. Next time, put a red treble in the front. It makes the hook invisible.
  2. Pink buzzbait on a drop shot with a 40# fluoro leader kills.
  3. I use something slower, around 22-24 IPT.
  4. Saint Croix Avid AVC70MM throws everything from peanut size cranks up to a little over a 1/2 oz. It's probably one of the best rods in that lineup.
  5. I have old ones from grandfather that are like the Lucky 13, but wood and say basser on the bottom. There was another one from Heddon that had that mouth, but was called something else and was more medium sized. It was a plastic lure tho, from the late 70s or early 80s.
  6. Looks like a Hedden Wooden Basser
  7. My biggest brown was 22# and came on 4# leader.
  8. If you turn the RTS (Humminbird) then you can see real time in 2D, just like a flasher. my experience has been that it's a pretty narrow slice your seeing, so you better be good at the other scanning available. The value is seeing the reactions of the fish once you find them. It isn't a silver bullet, but a an addition to the tools that are already there: GPS, 2D, SI, DI.
  9. It's priced appropriately. I had Tatsu on a spinning reel for over 5 years and it was as good as new. The only reason I replaced it was it getting low on the spool. I saved that old line for trout leaders. I've never had any mono or copoly last that long.
  10. No doubt! My centrepin reels have two knobs that can get you.
  11. It all sounds like whining to me.
  12. Looks like something still cling out from the barge, based on the shadow.
  13. Fly anglers have been using multiple knots with mono tippets forever and don't constantly complain. My float rigs for salmon/trout have up to five connection knots and I don't have any issues.
  14. I heard all the same complaints about SI.
  15. Rig a Fat Ika backwards and you'll get the same thing.
  16. Looks like a Flying Lure.
  17. Common goldfish are Carassius auratus. Common carp are Cyprinis carpio. They are not even in the same genus. They are both cyprinids, but that is a gigantic family containing over 3,000 species that are the most diverse in vertibrate world. So, no goldfish don't turn into carp.
  18. 10# Tatsu is about as low as I go. Braid, no less than 40# Smackdown, but usually spool up with 50#.
  19. This is the answer. There's always a live person during their normal office hours. 1 (903) 919-8028
  20. I'm the same, though I've adjusted to ordering online. The part that helped me get comfortable with it was realizing how simplified returning anything that didn't meet my expectations was. It's nothing like the old days of "mail order". Some places even send you a return label with the shipment.
