  1. believe it or not, i use an ultra light. The smallies where i fish usually are not over 3 pounds so its real fun to catch em with a small rod. I usually fish tubes with a 1/8 ounce head on em, either that or gary yamamotos. I use a 5 foot 6 ugly stik with a small as hell south bend reel.
  2. My friend caught two crab legs stuck together in the schuylkill river, and he caught a rock, actually reeled a 4 inch rock in. haha
  3. Wow thanks. Cant believe I didnt look for tracker in the first place. Thanks a lot. Great boats in that range!
  4. My dad, brother and are looking for a three person jon/bass fishing boat. We would like to spend the least possible, around 5-10 thousand dollars. The thing is, it has to be a three person, most pontoons are 2, and my dad wants a new, not used, boat with trailer. Can anyone please help my situation? Although we are not going to buy it right now, but maybe this year.
  5. Ok thanks, I have also heard that the rebel crawfish crank is very good for smallies and very easy to use.
  6. Also i do not currently own a boat, is that a problem for fishing tournaments, not big ones but little ones? Im saving up for one, I'll get one someday.
  7. Is it impossible for a weekend angler, like me to get sponsered? This year I am going to enter some tournaments, but i just got into fishins so I am going to wait a little bit. But I was just wondering, if showing off their baits and other types of equipment would be enough for a sponser? Not only that but getting more publicity for their company?
  8. I dont know, but my friend fly fishes stony all the time. Didnt know you fished it! Im probably going out when the water warms up, cant find any deep spots from the bank around here.
  9. Nice fishn. Well i didnt get anything but to tell you the truth, didnt really try.... the water was about 2 feet higher then normal and the current was crazy! I had to walk with my mom because she was walking my dogs so i didnt get to fish very long. But who cares, today i got to go to cabelas with my friend! haha i spent 80 bucks on lures, mostly tubes, some flukes, finess worms and a lot of hooks. It was awesome

  19. When is the best part of the year to use these hardbaits for smallies in rivers. I just recently picked up a bunch of hardbaits and am looking forward to trying them out, and what are the good water temps to use these in? Where should i cast to? Cover or Open water?
  20. Can anyone make me some custom crankbaits, and how much? I am interested in some new colors and i have $$$$ to spend!
  21. Thanks everyone for the welcome! And Tokyo_Tony thanks, ill ask him about it.
  22. I live in Pennsylvania and that is where the river is located. The water is about 8 feet regular depth but can get to be as deep as 15 feet in the middle of the river. The Schuylkill river water is very murky. The current, there usually is none, is slow at the spot that i fish. But eventually on those rainy days the current is there. I only fish from the bank, I do not have waders and because of the depth of the river, wading is not recommended. ;D The bank has a rocky edge so i will be about two feet high on the one side and about 5 to 7 feet high up on the other side. In the river only smallmouth exist with the very rare largemouth. I fish mostly 7 to 3 during the day in the spring. I hope this helps!
  23. I have only fished for most of last year and I am about to stock up for this up coming fishing season. The only problem is, I don't know what baits to get for this river that I fish from the bank. I am stocking up my lures for the spring. There are rock piles close to the bank and a some sort of log under the water. I was wondering, since I basically only fish from this spot on the river, what lures, techniques should I use to fish this river??
