Road Warrior wrote a great answer and discriptiion to a long frustrating task.
My question to him or all is... whats the ideal gear ratio's for the below said rods, for their specific techniques?
Below was wrote by roadwarrior:
For technique specific applications:
Light fishing: 6 1/2' ML/F spinning
Soft plastics: 7' M/F spinning
Crankbaits, jerkbaits and topwater: 7' M or MH/M baitcasting
Spinnerbaits and buzzbaits: 7' M or MH/F baitcasting
Jigs, C-rigs and heavy and/or deep running lures: 7' H/F baitcasting
And to break it down just a little further, I fish a Heavy Power/ Slow Action glass rod for big, treble hook lures.
Below is my current set up for 5 rods + Swimbait rod
All Shimano - All Casting
CRC - XST711 MH (XF) - Curado 300DSV 6.2:1 = Swimbaits
CRC - X76 MH (XF) - Curado 200DHSV 7.0:1 = Flippin,Pitchin,Plastics
CRC - 7MH (MF) - Calcutta 200B 6.0:1 = Crank Baits,Top water,Jerk
CRC - 7ML (F) - Citica 200D 6.2:1 = Sm Crank Baits
CRC - 7M (F) - Curado 200DPV 5.0:1 = Drop Shot,Plastics
CRC - 7H (XF) - Curado 200DPV 5.0:1 = Spinner Baits
Consider Southern California Fishin conditions.
