  1. I carry a small pocket tape recorder on a tether around my neck and record everything that I think is relevant to that days fishing . I transcribe the info that night when I get home. This the best way I have found to rtecord the info without loosing much fishing time. Try it , You'll like it.

  4. Trust me on this, dropshot a Gulp 3 inch Black Shad 24 inches off the bottom with 1/2 oz. weight and a 1/0 Gamy dropshot hook. Hold on!!! Not the numbers of 2004 and before but good quality fish.
  5. Over the past few years , I have been catching quite a few lmb between the cribs and shades in shallow water. the color of the plastic I use seems to make the difference, I have never caught largemouths on the colors Iuse for smallies.
  6. The human body exudes an amino acid called L-serine which has been proven to stop spawning salmon mid stream, I am sure that it probably is also very offensive to bass. I am also sure that some humans give off more L-serine than others, probably the reason some fishermen catch more fish than others. I, therefore, opt to use scentsunder the logic of better safe than sorry. Its all part of the confidence thing. ;D
  7. The fact that there is a H.P. limit and that it is out of the way,are a few of the things that make KPD great. Up until 1997 it was the heaviest stocked lake in the state, afriend of mine had a list of everything that was stocked over a ten year period. There were Lake trout, some kind of salmon, and 95,000 brook trout, channel cats,3 different kinds of musky and I don"tremember what else. In the late 90"s the walleye was pretty decent, I caught a few over 7 lbs. on downriggers. We'll not talk about the Amish, Thats a real sore subject.
  8. I like: KPD, Allegheny(Templeton), Erie, Crooked Creek,Allegheny(Mosgrove), Mon(Labelle), and Mon(Sunnyside).
  9. In the spring and early summer it is my favorite lake in Pa., other than Erie I can"t beleive that you Live in Gbg. and belong to Loyalhanna and have never fished the power dam. I live in Latrobe and used to belong to your club. The power dam also has a nice population of largemouths with good size.
  10. Has anyone been to Keystone PD? I am ;planning on going there tomorrow to see how awake the smallies are. Ihope all the ice is gone.
  11. I just bought a Lowrance LCX 27c and I was wondering if anyone has the Navionics Hotmaps-East 2007 and could tell me if it has much info that would be useful in Pennsylvania. Trying to get info on any Navionics stuff is hard to come by. How much better is the 2008 version? I would appreciate any info I can get. Thanks
  12. It seems to me that there ought to be a lot fiberglass rods laying around if you want to slow your reaction time
  13. Spiderwire is my first choice. I seldom use heavier than 30#.
  14. I have 7 Symetres, about 3 or 4 different year models, the main reason I started using them was because it was the best reel available with 6.2:1 gear ratio. I prefer a faster retreive and these reels seem to do it best.
  15. Absolutely the most fantastic smallie photos I have ever seen. I am so envious and jealous that I should apologize. I wish there was a way to share that experience. Congrats. ;D ;D :o ;D ;D
