  1. I would fish a spinnerbait or chatterbait ticking the tips over the top, jig the center, and crank the outside edge at all depths. senkos are great too at the edges.
  2. I thought I'd ask the real experts so here goes. I am installing a 36v trolling motor but my plug and recepticle are 12/24v. 2 companys told me it was ok but I don't believe them. Anyone know the real answer? Thanks in advance BTW its a 24v system now Jim
  3. Hello, I have a 24v bow mount with a broken circuit board. They no longer make the part but have another part for it thats $300. I am wondering if anyone has an old trolling motor like mine laying around for parts, or knows someone who may have the used part I need. Thanks for your help. Jim from CT
  4. Thanks friends. That answers my question. I can rearrange some hoses and put in 2 big ones or just put in 2 small ones. I know with 2 big batteries I can get 2 days of fishing hard with a 65lb thrust. One more question too. Can any 24v Trolling motor be run on 12v for a day here and there? I know it will run slower and get drained faster but it it bad for the motor?
  5. Not sure if its a dumb question but can a small deep cycle be combined with a larger one in a 24 v system. Its a matter of space in my 16' aluminum. I don't have the room for 2 large batteries.
  6. Does anyone know if any company makes precut carpet kits for an 18' 1988 duel console bass boat? I found 1 compnay that has kits for Champions but not 1988. It would just save me alot of time than cutting it myself. Thanks, Jim
  7. The Club is called Tobacco Valley Bass Anglers from Enfield. We have 20 members now and want to increase it by 2 or 3. Boaters and nonboaters. Great group of Guys. from 20-60 years old currently. Season is 12 events all over CT, 7 to qualify for points race. $95 to join. $30 per event. Meets in Enfield once a month. $500 to Mr Bass (AOY) at the end of the season Our Website is tvba.org. and we are on facebook.
  8. The boat doesn't have a gas motor currently and would stay in the water all summer tied to a dock. I hear what you are saying though about a day to remove it.
  9. thanks. what I mean by how it rides is would the back be higher than the front without a 400lb motor to balance it. Also would it get blown around without a lower unit in the water. For the seats, can't I just do 2 comfy captain seats that aren't Cajun?
  10. I have a few questions I'd like to ask. For a 1992, Is it true that these boats have no wood under the fiberglass? If a boat had the gas motor removed for an electric only lake, would it ride terrible with just the trolling motor used or would it need balast in the back? Thirdly, where can I find new bench seats that fit it? Thanks in advance. Jim
  11. I have a 65 Minn Kota Maxxum. The variable speed switch is broken so it only goes 1 speed. Minn Kota said its hard wired so I have to by the whole board for $200. I cut out the broken switch and want to replace it. It looks like a $5 part but I can't find one that's suitable. I went to an auto part store and a hardware store and Radio Shack. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks If a picture would help, let me know
  12. 15lb power pro no leader on my 2 smallmouth spinning rods. bites all day. senkos and small jigs. water is pretty clear--like 4 or 5 ft. sometimes I use a black permanant marker to darken the line near the tip but not always.
  13. the river other than that...Nope! I'm going crazy too. not just to fish but try out some new lures.
  14. I've seen them lay under leaves blown toward shore a foot wide in 4" of water in the fall. Lots of bass. Must be the warm cover since the leaves are brown.
  15. thanks guys! and yes its a 4lb brown trout that came from a stream about 10' wide in my avi.
