  1. Thanks for the responses everyone. Rhode Island is a bit far, if we were going that far I'd propably just consider somewhere like Texas or Florida too. I'll have to post in the section with Tennessee too. I'll have to call Mike and see what he has available and what his rates are, sure sounds good. I remember seeing him on TV before too.
  2. No one? Looks like quite a few views but no ideas.
  3. It has been quite awhile since I've stopped here but I always used to get great advice. I figured this was a great place to start. I have a week off the week of September 15 and my dad and I are looking to take a trip somewhere. He and I had always talked about taking a bigger trip (outside IL or MI) and this seems like a great time. I'm looking fo ideas of where might be a good place to go. We have a 18'6" Triton we can bring but we were also talking about getting a guide for 3 days and just bringing rods. No real criteria other than the chance to just have a great trip. Would like there to be a motel somewhat near by but I guess there usually is on any of the big lakes. If anyone can make suggestions keeping them relatively in the Midwest it would be hugely appreciated. I'll even take suggestion on guides. We are going to be driving boat or not so thats the biggest reason to keep it in the Midwestish area.
  4. I love my Ruger 22/45 and probably run around 200 rounds per week through. However, since even most used ones are out of your price I'd recommend look at the S&W22a. Cabelas will run it on sale for $199 as a door buster sale. I've rented one a few times and at some point will buy one.
  5. I'd be glad to help if I can.
  6. First one was a Ruger 10/22 with a mannlicher stock. I still haven't looked up what year it is but it came from a fishing/shooting partner who is like family. The first pistol came about 1 month after the laws changed in Chicago, a Sig Sauer P226 in .40S&W. While not from a family member it represents a victory for all gun owners. Neither one will be going anywhere.
  7. Probably the best thing you can do is go over to the Yahoo user group that is dedicated to HB's SI technology. great place to get answers and suggested settings. Biggest thing that helped me was looking at all of the pictures that are in the galleries there, it really helped me figure out what I was looking at.
  8. Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone used a transducer from an X51 for their 332c Lowrance units. I have an X51 mounted on the trolling motor with one of the non-temp transducers. Now I want to move my 332c up front. According to the Lowrance FAQ section I should be able to use the transducer for the 332c that I was using for the X51. Basically, I just wanted to see if anyone else has done this? Thanks everyone.
  9. Definitely sounds like you need some revenge agaisnt Mr Muskie. Good luck with the next battle!
  10. I enjoy the show, keeps me entertained, doesn't require any thought. I really love how when you look close you see ALOT of spliced togther footage. One second the have a bolt action rifle and the next it's a Ruger 10/22. You can see it with the boat engines too. None the less I keep coming back. As for Troy having alot of money I'd believe it. Did anyone see the episode last year where they showed his entire property?
  11. The closest Dicks doesn't carry any guns or ammo, just cleaning supplies. Many many years ago they had atleast shotguns but not for a very long time. I think it has something to do with living in Chicago.
  12. Hey guys I just figured I'd see who else is taking finals right now since it's that time of the year again. I'm just looking for motivation to get back to studying and figured someone else must be in the same situation as this topic always comes up. On an upside only 2 more finals and then no more finals ever. Still one year of rotations, but no more finals.
  13. I've been wanting to pick up their critical defense for my .40 but the stores never seem to carry it in .40 and sadly I'm unable to have it sent to me through the mail. I've always heard good things so I wanted to give it a try.
  14. I had the PRK done a little over a year ago and couldn't be happier. My only issue associated with the procedure was some light sensitivity, but honestly that doesn't bother me because I almost always wore my sunglasses when I was outside anyway. Recovery is alot longer than if you have the traditional LASIK procedure. My recovery and the normal is actually about 6 weeks before you return to 20/20 vision. There should actually be an old thread about this if you go back about half a year. As someone said if you are very active the LASIK does have the downside of the flap they cut that can become dislodged. Everyone I know that has done it has been happy no matter what procedure they picked. Definitely do your research.
  15. Great looking group of Sig's Micro. I really like my P226 but wish it had a rail on it for a light, I guess it's not new enough. As for the 1911's I'm hoping to add one to my collection by the end of summer. With the 100th anniversary it's been a great time to read alot of articles and read about these for someone who didn't know much about them.
