  1. I went fishing this morning for a few hours before work. I had Nightcrawlers, a UL pole and L rod. I couldn't find any fish in the spot I was fishing, so I moved across to one of my good spots 8). On the first cast I hauled in a big brim, the next cast a big Black Crappie, the next cast a turtle the size of a hubcap(which I really enjoyed since I want to be a herpetologist). So I caught two fish and a turtle. I took my sister to the pond after work for a few more hours of fishing and I caught two more brim! I was having a really great day, until my sister finally got a bite. She reeled in a 2 pound bass on a worm and a TINY little hook! I couldn't believe it! I guess some people got better luck than others, even if they are your little sister.
  2. Thanks for all the replies, I am getting some good advice from you guys. I will try these ideas next time I go fishing!
  3. I am new at bass fishing, I have been fishing all my life but it is always at the beach or for brim (which I am VERY good at catching LOL). I am starting to get more mature with my fishing, if that makes any sense at all, and I want to start bass fishing seriosly but I have a few (well a LOT) of questions. I have read all the beginner articles and those things. My questions now are over what you might think of as no duh questions. ?1: What is "walking the dog" ?2: How can I fish over sloppy moss and stuff with frogs and not get hung up, or put it in strike range for a bass. ?3: I fish a man-made pond that was built by putting up a dam and letting it fill up. THere are lots of BIG bass in it, but the only structure I know of is a pier and the spillpipe for the pond. There are no lily pads are weed beds that I know of and the only thing on top the water is messy algae. How can I find the fish, would fishing from the dam be good, or off the dock? Those are my questions. Any help you could give would be appreciated! -Nick ???
  4. I'll try that. The fish were hiting hard yesterday to!Do you live in or near Randolph county by any chance? -Nick 8)
  5. This is a wasted, useless discusion. Who cares!? -Nick ???
  6. I live in NOrth Carolina, so when I went to the pond yesterday it was 85 degrees and breezy. Just right. I was mostly fishing for brim but was also bass fishing as well. The fish were holding about 3 feet of of their beds. -Nick
  7. Hi, I am new to this message board and would like to introduce myself, and what beter way to do that than with a question. I fish a farm pond (maybe big enough to be a lake). a few miles from where I live. I went fishing yesterday and there were some good size bass swimming right up on the bank where I was fishing but I couldn't get them to bite anything. I tried slow running a spinnerbait and jigging it without any results. If anyone can give a few ideas for things to try I would apreciate it. -Nick
  8. Go to www.freewebs.com to start a free website. They are pretty good sites and easy to customize and manage. You can put pictures on and everything. -Nick
