  1. i just finished my build and a had set a budget for roughly 300 dollars not including the boat with the carpet the grand total came out to be 350. i was moding a 16ft boat so my cost would probably be a little more than yours but there are some ballpark numbers. boatcarpetbuys.com has some really good deals on carpet with free shipping. hope this helps have fun i really enjoyed my project
  2. the bolts are just a tempary fix havent had a chance to make it to the depot.
  3. yeah that is the steering setup the boat had a stick steer on it when i bought it i just adapted that setup. it is a 2x8 that i mounted to the deck with four L-brakets the picture also shows the seats on hinges im planning on putting rubbermade storrage bins under them to creat dry storrage. the long mounting bolts will be cut down that is just a temparary fix
  4. it hit 32 on the gps with just me in and a full tank of gas plenty fast enough for me in this boat anyway
  5. after looking over all the jon boat builds on here i decided to overhaul mine. i got most of my ideas from fluke masters build. it definatly was a learning experiance but i was a lot of fun to do. i started off with a 16 ft lowe with a 54 inch beam and decked it with plenty of sturage and leg room.let me know what you think i now flukes pics helped me out a bunch so maybe these will help someone else. its going to get carpet when its all said and done . figured i would fish it for a little bit so see if there are any kinks that need to be ironed out. i will post more pics whene it finished. it will definatly make fishing the big G more enjoyable
