One thing that makes the worms last even longer than the o-rings (for me anyways) is to put a small piece of electrical tape around the worm wherever you rig it wacky style. Just dont let them get to hot because the tape will start to fall off and it will get real sticky.
I would use something that moves as fast or faster than the boaters lure. If you try to fish something that is slower than what they are using you'll end up draging it at times and not being able to use it properly.
I was wondering if anyone had been fishing in Northern New York yet. If so have you had any luck? I have only been out once and they didn't seem to be active yet.
yeah I'm using braided line on both reels. One has 20# line and the other has 30#. I seem to have this problem with both of them. Is there any other way to try and aviod the line 'bedding in" besides getting a bigger diameter.
I just picked up a couple of new revo sx baitcasters. These are the first baitcaster that I have ever own and I am able to cast with them fairly well so far. Mt problem is that sometimes when I turn the magnetic brakes down under the medium setting my lure will stop in mid flight. The line ends up being bedded under it self and many times I have not been able to get it out and I end up cutting the line. I have wasted quite a bit of line doing this. I am wondering what is causing the line to do this. Could it be because I'm not putting the line on the reel correctly? Any thoughts?
You could use a minnow trap made out of wire and when they come, it is shaped so they can't get out. Fill it with pieces of bread and then throw it in the water until looks like there is alot of them in there. Dump them out and repeat until you have enough.
Yea I was fishing in Dick's boat. He was a great guy to fish with. He had alot of information to tell me about fishing and we had fun that day. We didn't catch any big ones but had are limits by about 11 that day. I really enjoyed that tournament.
I just started fishing in 124. I fished one tournament last year at Butterfield and plan on fishing in each tourny this year. Maybe you were at Butterfield also. Let me know.
I was just wondering if anyone fishes in Northern New York and what their favorite waters are. I currently going to school in Potsdam but live near Watertown.
