I fish the Ned a lot at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, lot of chunk rock on points...I find that if I go too heavy the ned rig heads do an amazing job of finding their way into tight places and wedge themselves in amongst rock and boulders and I spend a lot of time freeing them, so as others say I go as light as I can. I tend to fish the ned rig really slowly which exacerbates the issue.

NedRig was my bread and butter this year. Smacked the heck out of them on small lakes, Lake of the Ozarks, and Smallmouth streams.

I have a Bass Pro about 5 minutes from my house. I have a Cabelas about 12-15 min away. I love Bass Pro. Great selection price is OK, I am pretty good about getting stuff on sale, with gift cards etc. I buy casual clothes, hunting stuff, fishing stuff, whatever. If its hip to diss BPS then I sure as heck aint hip. I buy a lot in store, also will buy on line, and pickup in store. All works for me

There are lots and lots of kayaks that have a weight capacity in the 400-500 range. As said, these are some darn big, wide boats, but they are also really nice. Check out perception, Jackson (Cuda HD, Coosa HD, Mayfly, Big Rig), Wilderness, Feel Free. They aren't cheap though!

No fish in the Bowling Green lake. Chances are me and my brother are the ones you talked if the guys were in kayaks. I repeat, NO FISH IN THE D@MN Lake.

My brothers and I go by two terms. "Unidentifiable tension" and "exploratory hook setting" Honestly if you really concentrate on the lure and the feel, it will make it a lot easier to detect bites.

We got down on Wednesday afternoon, shortly before dinner. It was a heavy rain pretty much all evening, only fished off the dock. I did manage 10 bass with the Ned rig off the dock. One was about 18". The thursday morning it was cold, but dry, and not to terribly windy. Bite was good, first fish was a 18.5" on the NR. Friday was slower, warmer, very windy. Still managed about 12-15 fish, with a hand full of keepers. Saturday was warmer still, fish were scattered. We picked up most of our fish on Main lake points, working back in 50-75 yds off the points. Saturday evening we did well skipping behind docks. Water started very clear but was mostly murky almost muddy by Saturday evening. We had six in our group. We have 4 fish 21" and over, lots and lots of fish from 17"-19" Most were on a ned rig, few draggin chompers, and other misc baits. Will add more pics. Sorry about the sideway pics. Me, my 4 brothers, and dad made our 20th consectutive trip to LOZ this past weekend. We fished between the 10 and 14 MM. Here are the best

This is definitely one of my favorite rigs. I thought I "invented" it before my days on BR. Was fishing carolina rigs and after a few times of re-rigging it after breakoffs I decided to just texas rig a soft bait and use a splitshot to hold the bullet weight up about 18" Over time I lost the bullet weight and just use a split shot or two. My favorite baits on a baby brush hog or zoom finesse worm. Caught a crap-ton of fish the past couple of years.

Went a small soft sided tackle box many many years ago. Then upgraded size twice and capped out with the biggest blasted Tackle bag you've ever seen. It was insane. Scaled back to a moderate size tackle bag for boat fishing. When in the kayak I have one 3700 size waterproof tray and a BPS tackle binder. Both have 95% more crap than I need or will use for any given outing. Typically I could get away with packing the stuff I actually need in a cigar box and calling it good.

I have 4 brothers. At one point the my family had 5 bass boats and I had a open bow ski boat. I sold my boat, two brothers have sold their as well. We all fish out of kayaks. We have 5 kayaks between the 3 of us. One brother has a place at Lake of the Ozarks, so he is keeping his for sure. My other brother with a bass boat uses his quiet often. My dad just got to old to use his. Moving from the bank to a kayak is a no brainer.

Yes when in my kayak or in a deer stand I got a S & W MP9 on my hip. In a bass boat not always, there is a decent chance I will be having a barley pop or two while I am in the boat, and always with another guy or two. My land is pretty remote, but a fair # of folks passing through the area, and places I fish from my kayak are often pretty remote.
