  1. I live about 50 miles north of G'port. There are a few fishing spots that you might want to investigate.Flynt Creek is about 20 miles north of G'port in a town called Wiggans.Just take Hwy 49 north. It's about 1000 acres.Paul B. Johnson State Park is 48 miles north on 49.It's a 300 acre lake that grows some nice Florida bass. This time of year shad type crankbaits rule.Find the channel that runs the length of the lake.Suspending jerkbaits produce also. It's a clear lake, and swimbaits might be the ticket.Don't forget to try the Pascagoula River. You'll have to run up it a ways to escape the brackish water. There've been several FLW tournaments on it.Good luck!
  2. Although I don't fish tournaments,I think fishing tournaments would have to sharpen fishing skills, not to mention all the things you'd learn from other bassers.
  3. I like Bill Dance.I've heard that he fishes water that is like shooting fish in a barrel, but it's a great escape from the day to day grind.I also like Roland, Scott Martin, and Jimmy.
  4. How sad! That man has my prayers to cope with this tragedy.
  5. I think he will.He's well on his way.He should anyway.He's the world's best.
  6. Congrats to KVD! He really is the best.
  7. I don't really know anything about him except(from his avatar) he knows how to catch trophy smallies !
  8. I'm a catch and release kinda guy,but I'll admit if I caught what was surely the next WR I'd have to go with A. and B.
  9. Know what you mean. There's a guy lives in my county who has my exact name.Evidently,he is a scumbag.I've been served papers meant for him 3 times.I don't know how they keep getting it wrong.I'm Scotts-Irish.He's African American.I'm 6'2,242 lbs. with blond hair and green eyes. He's 5'8,165 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. Our SS numbers are different.I've had to hire a lawyer each time to get the various law institutions to leave me alone. These guys just see a name and assume,I guess.I just hope this idiot doesn't murder somebody one day!
  10. Amen to reading the Louis L'amour books.I read them all at one time or another. They're addictive.
  11. Raise the action on the strings. It really does sound like fret buzz.
  12. I like ALL kinds of rock, but the early ZZ Topp(Rio Grande Mud,Tres Hombres,Fandango,Tejas) really does it for me.Saw 'em 3 times back when they were young. They rock in concert.
  13. We were eating fried pickles when I was a kid(I'm now 50).Man,they are GOOD!!!Fried okra is great too.I like the boiled only in gumbo.
  14. Dean Koontz has a big series of thrillers that I'm sure you'd enjoy. Also the complete Anne Rice series is a fine read.Like you,I've read all of Ludlum's political thrillers myself. They are hard to put down!
  15. My late father-in-law taught me a lot about bassin' and deer hunting during our 27 years of outdoor experience together.Although I've never tried to emulate him,I'd say I fish mostly in the KVD style.I like to throw lots of casts with power baits, hut I can slow it down and crawl it when needed.
  16. Cool ride and crib.
  17. Bring it to the attention of the president. If he gives you the ole spin, quit that club and find one that's more like the kind of club that you want to be in.If you stay in,just grin and bear it.
  18. Here in MS,If there are rounds in the chamber, magazine,or clip etc. it is considered loaded. You have to completely separate gun from ammo to be considered unloaded.
  19. We've been busy with my wife's legal wrangling over a Social Security disability claim. We've been appealing since '03,and happy to say she won.Got a nice settlement and back pay. We'll be adding a pretty good monthly amount to our regular state pension. To say I'm happy just doesn't do it justice.I'll be back with you guys a lot more often.Again, thanks for your concern.Things are going very well, and I thank God every night.Talk with you later.
  20. Many hate it,but i use it on my dropshot rig,as a leader on my C-rig,and several other finese applications.
  21. Congrats! Like you, I am in love with baitcasters. After that short period of learning how to cast it cosistently,it's really a joy to use one.Of course,I like spinning reels also. They have their place in my gameplan, but I feel much more comfortable with a baitcaster.
  22. Muddy,I've been gone a while myself,and I'm back.Glad you're gonna be also.
  23. Nice to hear from ya LBH.You're still the ton of energy and passion for the sport I see.Me,I've been searching for the right job.I was hired this morning at Gander Mountain in the(you guessed it)fishing dept.I should be in a really good mood for a while.Keep up that passion and leadership!
  24. Thanks RW.Nice to be back.I've just been really busy the last few months, but I've got a little time to breath now!
