  1. Yes they do. They are 34 mm Daiwa zillion 1016 sv spools and fit the T3 1016, which is also with a 34 mm spool. No mods needed. Here’s a reference link. https://reelmaster.shop/baitcasting-reel-spool-daiwa-t3-mx-1016-34-mm
  2. Bumping to lower the price to $65. Take advantage of having a fantastic spare spool to throw a different set of line on.
  3. I have 2 brand new, unused, Daiwa Zillion 1016 SV TW duralumin spools for sale. I bought them to be used in Daiwa SS SV reels, but ended up selling a couple of my SS SV reels and didn't ever put these into them. They really wake up the spool as the stock SS SV and SV103 spools are a bit over braked. They retail for $90 +tax on the TackleTrap and are usually sold out. I am asking $70 each + actual shipping ($4) to your destination. Paypal will be 3% extra.
  4. I can sell you a brand new Zillion 1016 SV spool
  5. I am selling some of my new or gently used backup rods that I now realize I have too many of and may not end up fishing with. I will probably end this post when I sell about 7 of the 10 rods I am listing. Almost all of these rods I have 2x of and I really don't need to hording so many rods. The Abu Garcia Fantasista regista rods retailed for $500 back in 2018. They are incredibly sensitive rods when I bought them a bit over half off back then from Pure Fishing. Shipping will be actual cost to your destination. I think it's approximately $22-30 from Chicago, IL. I have new with tags: 7'0 medium casting rod Abu Garcia Fantasista Regista rod - $225 (can offer an alternative gently used for slightly lower price) 7'0 medium heavy casting rod Abu Garcia Fantasista Regista rod - $225 (can offer an alternative gently used for slightly lower price) 7'6 medium spinning Abu Garcia Fantasista Regista rod - $225 (can offer an alternative gently used for slightly lower price) 7'1 G Loomis GLX JWR 852C -- SOLD Gently used and in great condition. 6. lube and oil that shimano core. i bought two at a good price new and noticed that they weren't well oiled. oiled it and it went by two times on the worm gear.. a couple of the Revo STXs came without too much lube as well too.
  7. Thanks Roadwarrior.. I was throwing tubejigs on 1/2 oz tube weights.. i needed that extra weight to get down and stay down. we were only fishing in like 8-12 feet of water right along steel but it seemed today they did not want tubes dragged at a 'normal' speed. we got all our hits when we would throw the tubes, wait 10 secs, drag half a feet, wait 10 secs, etc.. all the hits were on the pause. also, when you throw Senkos, are you guys throwing weightless? it takes the senko about 45 seconds to drop about 6 feet to where the smallmouth are at, is that normal or should i speed it up by putting it on a small weighted hook??
  8. I went out on Lake Michigan to fish for smallmouth. Did fairly well catching on the jerkbait bite but then my friend started throwing a tubejig and absolutely smoked me until i started using the same color as him. I was throwing anything from smoke purple fleck to green pumpkin red flake, pumpkinseed, mustard, etc. The hot color he had was mardi gras, purple and yellow flake. Just wondering what color tube jig do you guys have a ton of success fishing either Lake Erie or Lake Michigan smallmouth since they have the same forage, crayfish, gobies, alewives, shiners, etc... Caught 10 between the two of us on rock piles on shore. Average fish was about 3- 3 1/2 lbs with his biggest going 4 1/2 and mine going a solid 4lbs. Had a smallmouth easily hitting 5lbs that I had a long time bringing in and when he came up and saw me, he made a sudden surge and dove straight down, wrapped my line against something and cut me clean off. Caught fish on Zenith Z-65 crankbait (more like a small jerkbait) Tubes Kalin 3" Smoke Grub Color tubes would be great. I heard anything with purple flakes work but would like to hear your thoughts. Also a particular company would be good. I found a great deal on Venom Tubes and having colors from Roadkill, Green Pumpkin, Pumpkinseed, Mustard, etc etc. Also have the 4" Big Shots, has anyone here had luck using those fatter tubes? Thanks John
  9. If you reel with the left hand, Cabela's Prodigy is on sale for $64.88 but only the left hand retrieve models are available. They are a good price for $100 and they are an amazing price for $70 (with tax). They are basically the Daiwa Advantage with an additional bearing. I had my little cousin casting it when he was 12 and he did perfectly fine. Just tighten the magnetic brakes and gradually progress and loosen them up. John
  10. I'd take a Compre over a Gl2. it's just a simple IM7 graphite like the graphite on a Convergence basically.
  11. I use two baits. My go to bait is a cherry tomato when I see them near the surface. Gotta love the adrenaline when they suck in that tomato and I set the hook. The other bait is a homemade strawberry dough bait that works equally well
  12. I own several Shimano Symetres, even a couple of older Stradics FG (the ones with the wooden handles), and the Daiwa Regal and Laguna. I don't mind the Daiwa, but I love my Shimanos. I have a friend who owns a tackle store who tells me that they sell much more Shimanos to Daiwas but about the same amount of reels come in for repairs/warranty exchange. Don't get me wrong, I like the Daiwa, but you can't go wrong with the Symetre. The Symetre and Stradic (at least in the past) have basically the same exact parts. The only difference is a cosmetic difference and the fact that Stradic is more expensive since it is made in Japan while the Symetre is made in Malaysia (I believe).
  13. I own three of them myself. Definetely a great cranking reel. I have mine on a 7'0 M, 7' MH Fenwick Techna AV and I love it. I tend to use low profile for worms though. John
  14. I use silver Thread for cold water steelhead fishing. I buy 6 or 8 lb test. I like it better than mono in cold weather b/c it doesnt come off my spinning reel like a slinky.. Copolymer lines for any time temps are lower than freezing
  15. in my opinion.. if you got tons of money buy Gamma. Best line for the money. I hated Yozuri Hybrid. I hated the memory on it and the weak knots. I like P-Line, but its a tad stiff for me. Like it more in the smaller lb tests than larger lb tests. Berkley Fluorocarbon is one sweet fluorocarbon as well too. Price wise, I stick with this fluorocarbon the most.
  16. I'm a huge fan of Fenwick too. But I'm not crazy about the split grips as well. I'm hoping to get the Fenwick Elite Tech dropshot rod though. they're supposed to be sweeeet
  17. If I were you, I'd buy a Fenwick HMX or a Shimano Compre. Best bang for the buck rods around. I especially like the HMX. You won't be disappointed in the sensitivity. 6'6 or 7'0 ML is good for the Fenwick HMX (the ML have good backbone and not as stiff as the M) or the Compre in 6'6 or 7'0 M. It's a great all purpose rod. I believe the Compre has a limited lifetime warranty too. I own the Stradics in the FG model, the ones with the wooden handles. I would never trade my used ones for a NEW FH or FI Stradic.
  18. Not exactly the best deal. Those triumphs go for $70 new, not $110. The $110 rod is the St Croix Premier. Also, I actually don't think that some Chinese made rods are that badly made. Shimano's rods are all made in China along with Fenwicks. Some of those rod wrappers have been wrapping for over a decade. Usually the less experienced wrap the cheap rods and the high end rods are wrapped by the experts. St Croix does the same thing as well. Those Premiers are not wrapped by the 'experts,' the experts will wrap the high end fly rods and the legends. But even the low-end rods will still have semi-experienced wrappers. I went to South Korea and visited a factory that wrapped high-end fly rods. Some of the rod wrappers had more than 3 decades of experience in textiles and could wrap the guides in a very very short amount of time. You pay the majority for the blank in higher end rods. But still a large amount of money that you pay goes into the wrappings and corks. A Chinese made rod of equal characteristics to an American made rod will cost about 1/4 less than the American made rod because of the lower cost of labor. instead of say paying a rodsmith $10-20 dollars an hr, they'll be paid $1-4 dollars an hr to wrap rods. Some people will say the quality of US made rods are much higher than foreign made rods, personally I don't see the difference in high-end rods. That's why I think the Shimano Compres/Crucials/Cumaras and Fenwick Techna AVs are just about the best bang for the buck mid/high end rods out there because the cost of labor is cheaper when you get foreign rods. In my opinion (but others will more than likely disagree), the Fenwick HMX is just about the best $80 dollar spinning rod out there. I prefer the Fenwicks over any other rod under $100 bucks. Compres do come close though in my book. Anyone else have a favorite around/near $100? Also. True, I still will occasionally want to/will purchase a custom rod made in the US because some custom rods are just sweet. But the majority of my rods I buy are bang for the buck rods because I'm still in school and don't have the luxury to pay for high end rods. Also, except for the ultra light rods, the Triumph and Premier seem the same to me and appear to me to be made as well as each other. But I don't think I'd buy them.
  19. I'd recommend the Bass Pro Crankin stick as well too. For 26.50 on sale, you won't find a better deal anywhere right now. I'd get the 7'0 medium or even the medium light if you have crankbaits/jerkbaits that are all lighter than 1/2 oz I'd also recommend the Shimano Clarus over the Compre because its a medium action compared to a medium fast action I believe. The Compre is a great rod for 89.99 but the Clarus for jerkbaits is a sweeter rod as well for only $59.99
  20. I've been bit by channel cats. Its okay to put a hand in a flathead but channels hut. I've also been bit by a northern pike. I had my hand on his belly and another on his tail. I just went to toss him over and give him a quick shake in the water and he went and bit the hand that was holding onto his tail. luckily he got my rough knuckle and it didnt hurt as much as scared me. still made me bleed a bit though
