  1. Doh! lol I would still suggest using no swivel of any sport
  2. Simply - The work great
  3. I get line twist depending on what lure I am using (without a swivel.) Though swivels are for newbs jk I do not use swivels any more and would usually use them when I would switch from a deep diver to a spinner or lures similar to those. I much rather have my line hooked straight to the hook anyway. "If you were to use swivels, get the black ones"
  4. No, it wont have a negative effect... If someone cannot learn/figure out the depths or sizes by the time the marker wears off then maybe that person shouldn't have cared in the 1st place.
  5. I would suggest the S08 which is the 3in version... 3 retrieves I would suggest is nonstop retrieve bouncing off or just above cover The slow steady retrieve with a a twitch every 15 seconds or so A stop and go retrieve Start by reeling so the lure gets down to or close to its max depth and pause Reel in again and pause
  6. Use a trailer hook 1/0-3/0 depending on the size of your buzzbait Try using 1 size smaller buzzbait If you think that they are spitting it out, add a trailer, I suggest about 2in or 3in piece of the end of a 5in senko Other trailers work, I have just had great suggest with this meathod
  7. Go fourbizz Go fourbizz Go Go Go Ah the swimbait epidemic What size swimbait were you using?
  8. Reservoir A natural or artificial pond or lake used for the storage and regulation of water. Lake A large inland body of fresh or salt water. Pond A still body of water smaller than a lake. Simply put Let me know if this helps
  9. Fireline Spiderwire Most braided lines
  10. The smell of a Bass not cooked but, straight out of the water. There are more but, since I don't remember the smell its hard to descrive lol One there was a bait shop called Hanks Tackle and omg the smell of the shop oooweee Along with V&M baits I found a bag of lizards once fishing it had a crazy weird pork sent
  11. Think diameter if you think the line is too thick, look from a line of the same weight but, smaller in diameter... I have had this happen to me too though but, I used the line anyway. Similar to line twist what I would do is run my finger down the line and or I would pinch the line lightly above sometimes under the 1st guide.. That would help some When I spool my reels once in a while, I would: * quickly but, as neat as possible spool my spare rod and empty reel. *pull the line through the eyes of each rod then tie the line onto the reel I want spooled *I set the rod down against something and loosen the bail accordingly *Then slowly reel the line onto the reel I am spooling *Once the spool is full I hold the line stretched tight about 2 feet past the tip guide (eye) and snip the line *Still pulling the line type I then tie the line (of the newly spooled reel) and tie it to the guide Hope that helps
  12. Please specify which sucker fish you are talking about, there are many.
  13. Try clearing your cookies if you have aim yahoo or msn message me and I can try to help you fix this issue
  14. ***** Its a fact that you guys have better fishing weather year round. I don't ice fish any more and even if I did the weather in CT has made it hard for any one to fish. Though I understand you guys fre!!ing have open water and are catching nice size bass heck bass in general and most of us are not... Nice fish Look out, there are some STARVING Northern Bass anglers
  15. speaking of sting "THE ONE THAT ALMOST GOT AWAY" Long story short I was fishing a lake from shore thats filled with all size crappie and largemouth. Walking on the bank cover with rocks... The spot I am fishing there is a lot of grass (weeds) not folded yet so I am able to cast into the water... I cast a white spinnerbait into the weeds a few seconds after I start reeling, I had a huge hit I set the hook get a quick fight and loose the fish. D!m! I quickly grab my other rod, put on a smoke shad senko and cast to the same spot The senko hits the bottom then go to reel and loft my rod tip A HARD yank I set the hook and walk to my right some I get the fish about 3 feet from where I can reach as I am walking to the right I feel 3 sharp needle like pokes in my eyebrow, my right arm, and my ankle Sh!! I don't understand that I look over and see a swarm a bees I start running now fish still hooked while running I call my wife "I CAUGHT A MONSTER BASS you need to get here fast and bring the camera" I pause and before she hang up "Make sure you hurry I got stung by bees" I am very alergic to bees but, not have been stunf since I was 12 years old I didn't swell Sat at the hospital Since I didn't swell and my heart rate wasn't too high They sent me home Figuring I was no longer allergic Later that night I swell like crazy then again sit at the hospital I sat at the hospital that night for 4 hours if not more
  16. I have many stories, here is one My buddy and I this is a story of a fish he lost Fishing a Reservoir Using tubes we are catching a a bass here and there My buddy remembered that I had an old mudbug He borrows it 1st cast he catches a 3lb LMB We move further right near a water pump He casts again, the lure goes past the water pump About half way i notice him set the hook "Mike I got a monster" He gets to fight the bass for a very short time The bass jumps lands into the water and snaps his line I knew nothing about it, never really used deep divers, and thought it was too odd looking to catch any fish... I only had used the mudhog 7 maybe 10 times that year Some call them vintage and I have seen one go for $12 They look like this
  17. We let it pass and laugh inside correct? Jhawk: I was teasing you about the temp When summer comes around and we have a 40º night I too complain how cold it is... I love that scale, though mine had gotten ran over, it was always on target and worked even after dropping it in the water unlike most digital scales... I am saying this in general and not toward any one... I think this year I may measure the weight, girth, and length and post so no one will question my catches lol I am actually good at guessing Bass weights in person...
  18. I believe its better then carrying a box in hand or over one shoulder, especially when you are walking around a lot. My boxes cost me from $2-$3 so if you could find a similar deal pick up some extra just to store lures/baits you might not be using that day.
  19. I am thinking the idea would work better with a deep diver design. I am sure the bait will have much more movement and flash which is a plus.
  20. I was jk in my last thread, its cool that you guys don't like the line/sharing your opinion. I don't love the line but, I do use it Compared to Suffix elite (g2), I have had better luck with the Iron silk on my bait caster...
  21. "I'm sure somebody that's dumb will chime in with suggestions for a different rod" I don't have a price range; I asked because. I was going to pick up a Diawa XiA... I figured why not get a combo if the rod in the combo was actually worth getting.. Both sites have them and I wasn't sure if I was to get a combo which was better. Thank you both
  22. You would think I was a representative of Berkley... Wipes a tear away, you bash my thread why oh why For those who USE it and DON'T have an issue then this thread is for YOU.
  23. The amount of pound test isn't what determines the capacity anyway. The diameter of the line is what determines how much is able to be put on the spool.
