  1. Maybe we will see a senko version of these.... I would buy them They would produce a lot of bass similar to the senko swimbait but, even better....?
  2. I may try one today if I can find open water... They sink slow when not weighted so "it could work"
  3. Isn't this one of those baits that are kept "secret?"
  4. at least you are catching fish I am really in the mood to go search for some open water Walk through snow around the shore Hope to catch some thing! Good luck
  5. Looks similar toa $5 lure I found in my grandfathers tack box. The bait I used was solid though... The shimano lure looks btter For those prices meh they can keep 'em
  6. I talked to him on aim and he is hitting the main area where the power plant has its discharge located... On a boat this time
  7. I caught one the same size as DSA.... That looks like a "roach"
  8. I picked a couple packs of these a couple of years ago... These baits work great in many situations They can be used on top water, and have similar action as the rage tail shad Texas rig them, use them similar to a swim bait Awesome baits I use green pumpkin and red shad Has anyone else used this bait?
  9. I believed he like fishing Taunton lake Newtown (CT) often.
  10. The first and still the number one "go-to" lure Original Floater Rapala The rooster tail Though is blades were kinda like steps worked very well (if anyone could link me to a site that has these) Color - 2 colors I remember would be white with black dots white feather and a yellow body with red dots and red feather. Zoom black and purple rubber worm These days he just asks for a Rapala or two One day I was out fishing him with a senko, this day the bite was very slow we caught about 5 or 6 fish in 2 hours. I offered him a senko and he denied after asking him on 4 different times I gave up and let him stick to the rapala
  11. What size/color baits have you tried? Do you know around how deep the water you are fishing? Suggestions *Rattles Traps 1in - 2in Try the bleeding shad/minnow *Senko - A shad type color *Structure/Grass/Weeds - Look for any type of cover bass will usually be hiding here especially in this time of year *The weather - Try picking either the next day after a "warm" front (40º-50º) and or a day of or after a clear sky sunny day. If you cannot catch them with lures try real bait or You could always go for crappie Check your pm I have someone who can help you and even probably take you out on Belews lake
  12. I never Met Brian I have only seen a lot of photos and watch some clips of him fishing... Though I was lucky enough to meet Ray and Ronnie Kerchal at there old home in Newtown. They invited us into there home with warm hearts... Ray showed us (my in-law and I) Bryans room which looked untouched, the way he left it. We were able to see and even touch the Bass masters classic trophy Ray and Ronnie sat down with us and both went deep into Bryans life, even shedding a few tears while doing so. They talked about him in his youth all the way up to the time he was on the plane. I appreciated the time spent with them and could tell that they supported Brian to the max... We could only dream of the success that he would have today if he was still with us. http://www.bryankerchalfund.org/ Please check this site out especially if there is ANY kids in your family
  13. Too cool for an aluminum boat bah ha ha I am so cool I usually fish from shore!! I love fishing from a boat though any boat, my second largest bass came from fishing from an aluminum boat. The best part about that location is that, I have never in my life seen any one put a boat on it besides my self and my 2 in-laws which was only about 6 times max. If you are not too far away I will join you, I much rather fish a small body of water...
  14. I am about 5 minutes away from latins cove if I jump on the high way and about 15 minutes away from the "Danbury side boat launch" For the most part I fish from shore but, in the past I have fished Candlewood with great success. Are you any where near this side of Candlewood?

  16. Some good open water here... Though most places are not fully open
  17. Any one interested in meeting up? I am not sure if any of you have done this here but, since I would like to fish with some new people I figure why not post... I live in south western CT so for those people that love near by in CT or NY or even those who don't mind traveling let me know and I would be more that happy to entertain you with some bass/carp/crappie/pickeral fishing in this part of CT
  18. When fishing certain ponds (half acre to one acre) I use to just tie a small piece of line in the hole my hook left.
  19. BTW this thread is about things biting our lines other then fish not other things getting hooked by us... Snapping turtles - which usually after fussing around unhook there self Frogs A huge Swan A Geese which start flying away while hooked A cat (without hooks) teased it with a spook Various snakes Last year I was fishing a very small pond less then half an acre Long story short My friend lost the biggest pickerel I have ever seen in person I toss on a wiggle wart and eventually get it almost to shore when it snaps my line I cast my other line out right away 5 cast later I see these huge waves following my senko My heart drops DUDE IT CAME BACK FOR MORE Bam My senko gets hit and I drag in a very mean ugly HEAVY snapper Sadly I know someone who had a small dog which thought a jitter bug on the garage shelf was edible and sadly enough the dog couldn't up its mouth since it was hooked with about 4 of 6 hooks
  20. Fish eat a lot of things that are harmful for them....
  21. its is but, corn is not good for fish
  22. It is illegal to catch grass carp in some states It is illegal to keep/spear/kill grass carp in many states Though if you are allowed to catch them try a "wad" of tree leaves
  23. Don't use a towel, its best to not take of their "slime." Don't hold their gills shut either I would suggest doing it similar to Mrs Matstone, though I slide my fingers through the side of the gills... Usually especially the bigger picks, you are able to hold pretty tight without killing it... When releasing grab near the back fin and right behind its gills and the release.
