  1. Pictures from the tourney with anglers representing states such as Conn. NY, Maine, NH, Mass, Vermont, RI (i believe), canada I HAVE 40 TOTAL PICTURES Most of the others are anglers on stage waiting for their weight / getting interviewed. These are the pics of the anglers who held fish up. If you want me to post the rest from day 2 let me know I didnt take pics of all anglers yesterday but, I will see what i can do today
  2. Not sure but, i suggest fishing the shallows for a while
  3. Bullhead BASS
  4. I am heading to Cabelas and figured I would pick up a cheap reel or reel/rod. Either: Cabelas Prestige (which I have and like) or Shimano Solstace
  5. thanks .dsa i was watching a documentary where a gentleman was talking about people worrying about them "walking" the gentleman said some thing to the effect, these fish should not be feared in any way and its not like they are going to sneak into your house and ****** a beer from your refrigerator
  6. i never stated they were deadly to humans how many have been caught and tested for game fish in their stomachs? how fast do there digestive system works? depending on the number this may not prove that they do not prey highly on game fish
  7. 1. does it matter if its old? 2. if they arnt dangerous they why are they being hunted in so many states no fish and release on them more like fish and kill
  8. I agree with those who said, that bass will attack any size bait / lure etc. I have seen bass eat live small mice (not used as bait) and Small birds (not used as baits) If a bass attempts to eat something too big but, it can not fully swallow the prey, the bass may die. Big largemouth "dead" after attempting to eat a fish it could not swallow There is an exception in my opinion which is that there are parts of the year (winter especially) where bigger bass may not expend as much energy chasing something big. Bigger bait bigger fish never stuck with me because, I have caught 6in bass on a 6in spook and a 5lb lmb on a 3in rapala jerk bait. Bass eats mouse (tank too small for mouse) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuRH1u1BRmk Good studies one being distance of prey / size http://www.montana.edu/~wwwbi/staff/mcmahon/Pred-Prey.pdf This was taken from http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/youth/news/story?page=b_youth_BassEat_JrBMM_0106 "Bass also choose their food based on their size. The bigger the bass, the bigger the meal. Largemouth in California often eat rainbow trout 10 to 12 inches long, and Cross once found a 12-inch gizzard shad in the stomach of a 10-pound largemouth. He has, however, examined stomachs of big largemouth that were crammed full of tiny grass shrimp, proof that bass will eat whatever is easy to catch." "Largemouth bass switch from a diet of mostly insects to a diet of fish and other larger prey when they reach about 8 inches," says Cross." This info was found here http://www.jimporter.org/articles/article59.shtml "Any prey having a body depth less than the diameter of the bass' mouth may be consumed."
  9. I was searching for a video for bass and found this one of a "pet" snakehead. Arnt the illegal?
  10. woot woot I caught another no JK after catching that fish all I have caught was dinks ! 1lbers!
  11. If fish thought like humans I am sure it would have regretted dragging that big belly around just to get a hook in its face... It may have not been a record bass but, heck I can't complain one bit. I have only seen a few bass that had a giant gut but, again this is the 1st I ever caught or seen in person. Thanks guys
  12. Thanks everyone I would have only had pictures on my phone if my buddy did race home to get his cam!
  13. Thanks guys Now if only I can find some more decent bass this year !
  14. I had no scale 8( I ate it and loved every second of it.. : Jk I rarely EVER keep any fish. How does one get this big post spawn I believe its the weather. The water has yet to "boil" and I believe the bigger fish are still very active.

  17. For $3 or less in my opinion they are an awesome lure. I fished these early in the year when the water temps were in the 30-40 degree range. The fish would swallow these baits. I need to buy more since I lost the three I had. I would suggest a continues retrieve. Slow medium or fast now that depends on the whether, water temps and depth of the water you you are fishing.
  18. I picked up a kicktail and kicktail slab. The slab (sunny) out of the box is more of a paper wait. With a little modification though it now has much more action and swims well. The slab works well i wish I would have bought a bigger size. I actually caught two LMB about 1½lbs today after fishing a small pond for about 30 minutes or so...
  19. Most of the bodies of water I fish do not have water flowing into it weather its from a pip stream etc... Many have an outlet, what is the best way to fish this area and how close to the outlet pipe/stream should I be fishing... In general or spefically for each "season"?
  20. Thanks for the help so far... The megabait charlies actually worked pretty well. I actually used a razor to make the slits on the side wider, so now they have more action. For the price are they worth it? Is there another brand/type of swimbait for the same/similar price that will out perform these swimbaits?
