Just for fun why do you think the BASS wont commit to the west for a classic? Take CA Clear Lake and the Delta ranked in the top 5 bass waters of the country. Do you think it is the State that won't let them in, the location of the water, lack of a place to hold the weigh in, or something else? I was just wondering what all of you think? /me

I have never heard of a bass having a problem with current. Matter of fact I work the current pattern out here on the Delta to catch the old bucket mouth! Anyone ever fish the James river in VA? The most important thing about that creek is that there are Bass in it. C&R and keep the place clean, they will keep coming! /me

I too used Google for years to find and map out new spots. I would have to say that Live maps are more current and of better quality. I use it allot for the CA delta. There are more sloughs and creeks than I know what to do with. I got hooked on satellite images back in MI when I used to hop from pond to pond in my Jon boat. Those were the days! ;D /me

I like to use jigs T-rigged plastics, small cranks in the clear water and large in the dirty water. Rattle-Traps off points. The main thing to do is one get out there and two go slow, and then go even slower than that. Takes allot of time but well worth the learning experience. Give it a try. I have fished in allot of different states and your cold water presentation is the key to success. /me

New to the board but not to fishing and I just wanted to say hi! I am a Warrant Officer in the Army and I am currently stationed out near the CA Delta!
