  1. Raining today, but we managed to catch 3 - 2 peacock and 1 small mouth. A friend once told me that the 2 best times for fishing was when it wasn't raining..and when it was.
  2. That fish totally looks bigger than 6-6!! I like Farm 13 too -
  3. Looks like a nice fat one! Good catch! 8-)
  4. Heading out there this wknd and cant wait!!!
  5. Ok, so who is up for some fishing at Okeeheelee the wknd of April 11th? I am thinking Sat., but it depends on whether we want a pavilion, etc. Email me with your thoughts. 8-)
  6. I was just at Okeeheelee this past wknd with my kids. We caught 5 nice ones ranging from 2-4lbs (we know the skiers spot too..lol)- I would be up for a get together - anyone still organizing?
  7. The trip was great - (too short!) The fishing was ok - I did bring my boat, and went over to Allatoona. We spent the morning by Kellogg Creek, and caught a few bluegill, but no bass. We had a great time though. Those fish attractors are something else - Georgia is so beautiful right now! I really enjoyed the weather, and being on the lake with my friend.
  8. I have my own boat, I was just debating whether or not to bring it. I will check into the guide first. Thanks for the info -
  9. I am looking for some good fishing spots near Atlanta - I am visiting a friend the 16-18th and I want to take her out fishing. She actually lives in Kennesaw.
  10. Here's another site with good info- http://www.floridamarine.org/
  11. 561 - I'm in west Boynton Bch. Lots of nice neighborhood lakes here
  12. Welcome to sunny South Fl...(except in the afternoon..lol) I agree that it is harder to find good spots in Boca - come up north a bit and there are less "no fishing" signs. Lots of local lakes with plenty of bass. Send me a PM after you get down here and maybe we can get a group together.
  13. Me! WPB Sunny and HOT!!!!! We are melting here.......lol!
  14. Our neighborhood has many large lakes. The levels are high now, and my son had a great time with some of his friends yesterday - caught several LM bass, and the cutie pictured here..
  15. An old friend once told me the 2 best times to go fishing are when its raining...and when its not.
  16. That's awesome!!! Those kids are too cute!
  17. Thanks guys!! I am looking forward to shopping for my boat!!
  18. Thanks for all the support, guys.. I followed up with our Ricky, our pres - he has actually suspended the guy and many of the guys in our club have had words with him. I guess he has said inappropriate things to them about me and they had told him to cut it out, but thought he was harmless. I am not going to let it discourage me though - something good came out of all of this...I DID talk to my husband, who got VERY upset..then calmed down and talked to Ricky. Anyway, he said he's going to make up the difference so I would have my boat by the summer!!!! YEAH!!!! No fishing off the back for me! (Not that I didn't learn a lot this past yr.) Also, we are having a special meeting this week to discuss proper ettiqutte in our club.
  19. Let me preface this by saying I do know that ALL men are not like this, and I have been paired with some really nice anglers who have taught me a lot - This past Sat., I was paired with a young guy from our club who has always professed to be a real "family" man... We are about an hour into the day and he has caught 2 good keepers, and I haven't caught one yet - I finally hooked a nice fat one on a homemade spinner bait - he got the net, then once it was in the boat - proceeded to smack me on the butt, and keep his hand there...rubbing...totally on purpose....OMG - I couldn't even believe it - here I was so excited about landing this lunker (5lb.4oz.) and he goes and pulls that crap - I have fished in tournaments all this year and have not had an encounter like this. Needless to say, the rest of the day was awkward - he made several more inappropriate comments, and I got off that boat as fast as possible when we got to shore...and had a talk with our pres. who I know very well. It is well known in our club that I am a happily married woman who is there to fish and learn more about fishing. I dress modestly. I have been saving for my own boat this past year- I am about half way there. Unfortunately my husband does not understand why I like to fish - he just doesn't get it, so I really couldn't tell him about this - that would be the end of it for me... I am just so disappointed that on a day that should have been great (that was the biggest bass I had ever caught) I had to deal with such a moron...who obviously had more on his mind than just fishing..
  20. Hey Bassn' - Thought of you yesterday! My kids and I went out to Okeeheelee. That front lake was quite productive We caught quite a few 2-3 lb bass, and my son hooked an Alligator Gar - eek! But the most exciting part of the morning was baby girl (14..LOL) caught her FIRST big bass!! She has been saltwater fishing before, but is just getting into bass fishing. She had been throwing a watermelon worm, and had a few bites, but didn't set the hook, so they got away. My oldest son was so sweet, he spent a lot of time with her, showing her how to set it, and sure enough, the next bite - she pulled in a good 3 lb bass! She was so excited! I told her she was a natural! We are going back after we get back from our Spring Break trip~
  21. 1 - Patience - I don't give up - I try a new lure or move if I need to 2 - Preparation -I know the body of water I am fishing - the conditions, etc. 3 - Perseverance - There's always hope for one more fish..one more sweet spot... Whether I catch any or not, I always appreciate being out on the water. Every time I fish, it is an opportunity to learn and grow. ~My weakness would be my inexperience..which I am working on~
  22. Ouch!! Jeez...I feel for you...
  23. Wonderful stories - thanks so much for sharing!
  24. I find it so interesting how many people have made references to the similarities between fishing and poker. How many of you play online? What sites do you recommend?
  25. WOW! I love hearing all your stories...thanks! Keep em' coming!
