  1. Those are awesome reels, love them myself. You say you removed 2 of the 4 mag., you did put them back, right? Another thing to check, make sure you didn't overfill the spool. as far as the 8 lb. on a C series, I wouldn't. The space between the spool and the frame is a bit too much. You can find a schematic with google if you think you assembled wrong. Get things straightened out, and you'll love those reels. Good luck!

  9. gripnrip, like Jigfishn 10 says, it's a preference thing. I have both types, but like the all cork handle better. I really like the BPS older style "power hump" Yeah, I know not many like those. But if you can, ask a buddy to try the type you are interested in for a day.

  14. look at the bright side--now you know where Waldo is ☺
  15. I tried it. haven't been bothered by mosquitos in the past week :-)
  16. If you have the extra $100, I would say you are better off w/the kayak. Kayaks are good in windy/cold conditions. Do you have a way to transport it? Another option to go in on something with a brother/father/cousin, etc. I was going by you only had $200. I have waders and fly-fish in the winter, so the cold would not matter to me. Whatever you decide, save some cash for a life-vest. Gear is replaceable.
  17. STOPPPP!!!!! just locked up my brakes and turning around. Heading to Washington DC. That link for dicks is $300.
  18. I gotta take a road trip to Philly, cuz I ain't EVER seen a used kayak for $200 near me. ;-)
  19. It's less than $200, if that's what you can spend, than go for it. Kayaks, even used are more expensive. Good luck, use it often
  20. look for the pike on ice-out. you can catch trout in cold weather. golden stone fly work pretty well even in winter. dress warm! be patient. Ask Santa for a flyrod ;-)

  22. Stop by Housatonic River Outfitters in Cornwall Bridge if that's near your gramp's house. good people there, they can tell where some good spots are and what flies to use. http://www.dryflies.com/index2.php Nice catch!
