  1. Very true. ask those who flyfish using a multipiece rod. They can be vey good!

  3. If you like lipless cranks, you'll like blade baits like Heddon sonars. You can adj. the wobble tight or wide by the 3 position setting. Like a lipless you can cover a lot of water and diff. depths. been working well for me.
  4. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/fall_patterns.html try looking here.
  5. pick up a CD zip up storage holder at a tag sale. about 6x6x2.5, slide each spinnerbait in it's own pocket. takes up very little room.
  6. someone gave me Advanced Bass Fishing Skills from the BASS collection. lot of good info.
  7. don't invite your friend any more
  8. That's a ways from you NE, East Haven, north of 95--mostly
  9. cabelas will sell you a leakproof, rechargable 8 amp batt. for $25 or with a charger for $33. save you money in the long run
  10. X2 BC (no E) is a real fishing nut, but he has his priorities right.
  11. GF should be happy he's out chasing rock piles and ledges, not other girls.
  12. Hey BC no E, If you were me, you'd regret it ;-), but seriously, If I were you I would make time to fish with your father. It's something you'll never regret. Short time, few hours when you can grab it. Your GF will understand. If not, you still have that Sarah Palin poster on the wall----.
  13. Make sure you are not over filling the spool. I set spool tension as Rooster has posted.
  14. Housatonic River? Try the channels near Bul's Bridge with a Mann's jelly worm. 8" black grape. Depending on the level, they work pretty well their. If you flyfish hoppers are a lot of fun there too pretty soon.
  15. I'm guessing you are talking about a spinning reel. So try this, first always close the bail by hand. Then I use a swivel with a "tippet" so to speak in front of it. tie this to your crank bait or soft bait directly. I don't use a spinning reel to much, but this works for me. enjoy.
  16. I'm going with, It's just Happy ;-)
  17. Look into an Old Town Discovery 119. 11'9" 43 lbs., single seat. 32.5 " wide, can carry 500 lbs. Shorter/narrower might not give you enough stability. I would use a kayak paddle with it, too. good luck
  18. Try this, slide off the skirt. Slide on a tube bait. Makes it pop up to the surface quicker, and you can slow down the retrieve w/o it going under. slide the head over the weighted part and it won't slide off.
  19. Glad you didn't think I was nuts!
  20. clayton, hard to believe we live fairly close together and you have never had a tick on you!. By any chance do you eat garlic in/on your food? I have been mixing some in my dogs food, after hearing about this, and they have been doing better than last year. I also believe some people are more "attractive" to ticks than others. You can also notice this with mosquitoes.
  21. I'll try the tape trick aceman. What do you do for the ones coming from the top down?
  22. You are right clayton, got tired of typing ;-). I keep a set of pants, sneakers,a shirt and hat, sprayed and in a plastic bag. Doesn't seem to bother my skin, but DEET def. does. I view ticks as terrorists, a little paranoia helps!
  23. You can buy permethrin at Dick's, comes in a 24 oz pump bottle. Not a big fan of DEET, careful with that stuff around your lines. Not only Lyme, and Rocky Mt. spotted fever as someone said, but anaplasmosis (sp?) comes from ticks also. Make sure you use preventives on your dogs, can be very painful for them. Tucking your pants in your socks will help, but they WILL get on you other ways.
  24. I've had good luck with Wave lizards. Little or no weights
